BtS d2d crashes on startup

you should try contacting 2kgames - their Tech Support is of very varying quality though - sometimes they are really good and most of the times they won't even address your questions but come back with some standard fare...

Please post what comes from contacting 2K - as mentioned I have the same problems. I should also mention that BTS fails working with download version of Civ 4 both as CD version and download version (BTS that is).

The 2K Games folks told me that you can't mix and match versions at all -- storebought Civ IV only works with storebought BtS. He also said that I should install BtS before patching Civ IV to version 1.74.

So... more money to sink into it I suppose.

this is about the quality of support I expected - but still annoying - this little fact is nowhere officially stated so it should not be an issue . Unfortunately I don't have any more ideas either
