BTS Diplo Victory bug?

Hey all,

Well, I just finished the best game of my life, a Space Race Victory as China in 1982. My final adjusted score was 16180. I had 4 vassals under my control. I pretty much ruled the world.

However, I was not the Secretary General of the UN. My neighbor, Boudica of Russia was. She selected the Diplomatic Victory option, and I won with far more than the required amount of votes. However, the game continued.

Five turns before my spaceship landed, the same option came up. I won again, and the game continued as if nothing happened. Has this happened to anyone else? Was I doing something wrong?

Hmm, did you have more than 66% (I think) of the total votes yourself? That's a new patched (and stupid IMO) condition - you can't have enough votes all by yourself. Otherwise though it would seem to me that maybe you made a mistake (posting a save could always help)- did you actually reach the diplo victory threshold, cause beating the next closest finisher isn't enough.

I think so. Between my population and my vassals, that number sounds about right.

What are the other Diplo Victory conditions, though? I thought it was just "getting the most votes."

Not you and your vassals, just you .

What you're describing in post #1 is wierd.... what Earthling described is a completely diferent issue ( if you can get enough votes with your pop to win by UN, the vote will never appear ). You're saying that the Diplomatic win vote appeard, you won the vote but you didn't won the game? That shouldn't happen....

It was probably just the secretary general vote. I've not seen a UN win vote come up and then the winner not named.

It wasn't. It said "Diplomatic Victory". Not "Secretary General."
