[BtS] DIPLOMACY: a mod for Diplogames!

Spanish American War units might be the way to go. They should look more Spanish than American, though.

Siamese Rifleman would look good.

Don't know what the uniforms would look like, though.

Alright, I think I may have found something. I was thinking of using the soldier second from the right. And basically making the cavalry look the same as well. What do you think of that idea?

Although I could go with that cavalry there with a pickelhaube on too. But I wanted to make the units look less Spanish than Puerto Rican (since Spain will have new units for the next mod that will look pretty similar to these).

EDIT: These uniforms are uniforms FROM the Spanish-American war, and uniforms that are contemporary of the Spanish-American war (meaning they may not have been used in the war, but elsewhere in the Spanish army). Based on what I can gather from the Spanish-American war the hat worn by that soldier I mentioned were popular with both the Spanish and American armies during that conflict.

Good call with the pickelhaube cavalry. Even if it isn't exactly accurate, it's good that the units are different.

Well, I threw together a preview for Siam. I kind of rushed it so I forgot to properly texture a few things and I forgot to put up the Kwan Chang UU. But here is the preview anyway. I am THINKING of retexturing the Zerver units, but I don't know about that because I am not too great at texturing. Enjoy.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I have to fix the animation on the Marine too, apparently.

Some of the units' faces are pink.

Yeah, that is why I said "I kind of rushed it so I forgot to properly texture a few things and I forgot to put up the Kwan Chang UU. But here is the preview anyway."

And as for the Cavalry, since I have a new Spanish cavalry that Bernie made I can make the Puerto Rican cavalry have a pickelhaube so they don't look exactly like the riflemen.

Guess where I got most of these lines for Xerxes!

First Contact:
The god-king of the [OUR_EMPIRE] greets you, [CT_NAME]. You will find that I am a kind man. I only require that you kneel down and fear me!

Refuse to Talk:
You do not deserve to talk to a god-king, [CT_NAME].

No Peace:
There will be no glory in your sacrifice. I will erase even the memory of [CT_CIV_SHORT] from the histories.

Friendly Greeting:
You are welcome at my palace anytime, [CT_NAME]. Let us discuss many important things.

Annoyed Greeting:
You will someday pay for your barbarism, [CT_NAME].

Weaker Demand Tribute:
All the god-king [OUR_NAME] requires is this: a simple offering of earth and water. Oh, and this wouldn't hurt either.

Equal Demand Tribute:
It isn't wise to stand against me, [CT_NAME]. Imagine what horrible fate awaits my enemies when I would gladly kill any of my own men for victory.

Strong Demand Tribute:
Come, [CT_NAME]. Let us reason together. It would be nothing short of madness, were you and your valiant troops to perish... all because of a simple misunderstanding.

Nice work Madman. I reskinned Bernie's Spanish Musketeer into a Puerto Rican "What If" musketman. I know Puerto Rico's colors were probably not blue and red back in this time, but I wanted to incorporate some of those colors into the units because they most likely won't show up anywhere else (since their colors will be orange and white even the teamcolored units won't have them). I also incorporated the coat of arms, I hope you like it...

It would probably be blue and red. Not only because of the current colors, but because they are also the colors of the Grito de Lares flag.

Well when is that from? This Musketman is probably 1600s era. But that's besides the point, you think I should use it? Because I'll probably make their late medieval/renaissance units look a similar way. I'll probbaly do what I did for most of the Americas modules in that the ancient units will be natives, then I'll go Spanish looking for the Medieval and renaissance units, and for Industrial and beyond they'll have Puerto Rican units (American units for their Tanks, Jets etc.)

That is from 1868. But it was the first flag of Puerto Rico, so before that it was only Spanish colors. Anyway, you should probably go with that colors scheme. It is a "what-if" unit after all.

Well its quasi-what if. I am sure there were Puerto Rican soldiers (i.e. conscripts/volunteers from Puerto Rico) in service of the Spanish Crown. So in that effect there were Puerto Rican soldiers. However they would probably have whatever unforms the Spanish gave them (if any uniforms were actually given in those days). I think it looks good though, so I am going to go with this. I don't have time to do more units tonight but I am really looking forward to this Puerto Rican set. I have some good ideas, there will be some cool units.

Here's some quotes for Geronimo of the Apache.

First Contact:
Greetings. I am [OUR_NAME] of the [OUR_EMPIRE]. I am no chief and never have been, but this honor has been conferred upon me and I have proved myself worthy of my people's trust. Can I trust in you, too. [CT_NAME]?

Refuse to Talk:
Don't even try to speak to me, [CT_NAME].

No Peace:
No guns, no bullets will ever kill me. You, however, shall suffer a painful, horrible death.

Friendly Greeting:
I welcome you, brave [CT_NAME]. Feel free to cool yourself down inside my hogan.

Annoyed Greeting:
I once could not think we were useless or Usen would not have created us. Then I met you.

Weaker Demand Tribute:
With everything you have, [CT_NAME], why is there nothing for the [OUR_EMPIRE]?

Equal Demand Tribute:
Our scouts are as ready as ever to raze your cities, so hand this over to we do not harm you!

Strong Demand Tribute:
Give me this or else I will chase you and force you to scream my name very loud.

Damn, I hadn't though of it that way.

I was just thinking of how people shout "Geronimo"!

Guess where I got the idea to make these diplotexts for Kim Jong-Il!

First Contact:
Greetings, [CT_NAME]. I am [OUR_NAME], Eternal President and Glorious Leader of [OUR_CIV_SHORT]. What would the [CT_EMPIRE] like to do for the great and mighty nation of [OUR_CIV_SHORT]?

Refuse to Talk:
Do you have any idea how freaking busy I am?

No Peace:
Leave me alone! Talk to Alec Baldwin about it!

Friendly Greeting:
Hello! Welcome back to [CT_CIV_SHORT]. A word of advice: don't talk to Alec Baldwin. He is the true ugliness of human nature.

Annoyed Greeting:
You are worthless, [CT_NAME]. You failed in every way and now my stock in you has fallen.

Weaker Demand Tribute:
I'm so lonely, [CT_NAME]. Could give me this to help me cope with my loneliness.

Equal Demand Tribute:
Give me what I want and maybe...just maybe I'll tell you about my nuclear program...

Stronger Demand Tribute:
Give me this, or else I will be very, very angry with you... and I will write you a letter, telling you how angry I am!

Perfect Kim Jong Il diplotexts.
