[BtS] DIPLOMACY: a mod for Diplogames!

You could also use the Cock (or Coq) for France too. I actually think Rhye made a decal for it, if you search for Rhye's Flag and Decal pack you might find it there. In fact I think he also has a berber flag there too, but its the "squared-off" version, I like the one you are using better.

EDIT: But I think I am going to go with the tri-flur de lis flag for France in the next edition. You could put all three of them in there if you want.

The cock I am saving for the Gauls.

However, I used his Chinese coat of arms for an additional chinese flag, and made a third one as well: a panda.

I thought a boar would be more appropriate for the Gauls. Or at least a boar's head.

He does have some pretty cool flags there, I just looked at it.

What else does "le coq gaulois" mean in French?

Actually... not really. It's actually a play on words, gallus sounding like Gaul.

I made an American button with the head of Lady Liberty.

Now that I am reading into it the rooster and the boar/boar's head were both common Gallic symbols. So you can use either one, although I think a boar or boar's head is more intimidating.

EDIT: I also think the Assyrian set is going to turn out really well now, so the mock-up previews will end. Although I will say that a few of the units are going to get a nice makeover; so there will be some surprises. I am going to try and get nearly all of it finished by tomorrow night, so hopefully the entire set comes out right. Here is the thing though; I was going to use Babylonian military units (the what-if ones that have been made), but I started thinking about maybe making my own industrial (and maybe a few modern) Assyrian what-if units. Do you think that's kind of ridiculous and random, or should I just got for it?

Assyrian what-ifs would be better. Marines with huge Assyrian beards.

"Coq" & "gaulois" share the same semantic origin or at least the specie has the same root :
gaulois=gallic in english
"Coq, poule & poulet" are french names based on gender and age for the gallinaceous specie.

Well, the reason I mentioned it was because the Babylonian industrial/modern units basically have the same head/beard you are speaking of. The real question is not about the beards, but if I should use them or make new ones.

Ah. Hmm... If you're not going to make new ones, I'd at least try to add a bit of flair to the Babylonian units to keep them unique.

I think I'll try to make some original units, we'll see how it goes. If it becomes too much of a hassle I'll use the Babylonian ones (reskinned of course). It'll look good, I have no interest in having a half-assed mod.

What color were the Incas again?

I checked. It's Dark Cyan (formerly Korean).

I added the head of a bald eagle for America... a new symbol for Inca. I'm going to do a she-wolf for Rome now.

My favorite Civ being Rome; great idea!!!!

Although I will probably use the SPQR with laurels for the generic flag. In my personal game I'll probably go with the she-wolf though.

I looked into it, and I think there is a state seal/presidential seal for the US somewhere around here, and a similar coat of arms for Britain/English. If you don't horribly mind hunting those down it'd be cool. I mean Vietnam has three options, shouldn't civs like the Americans, English, Romans, etc have more?
And on a similar note maybe the hammer and sickle with star for the Russians.

EDIT: now that I think about it maybe some extra options for Germany. Like the alternative cross in Rhye's pack, the republican eagle, or even the Nazi swastika. I like the optional flags, it gives people options. And I personally love options.

I think those options should represent the civilization. I think the Nazi swastika and the communist star and sickle wouldn't be good options. I know that you're not trying to make your MOD really historically accurate, but some of your suggestions still look weird. Again, this is only my opinion.

I went against the hammer and sickle and swastika knowing that you were going to make a Soviet and Nazi civ just for fun.

Here's what I added so far:

Dutch: Windmill; 3 Xs (from Amsterdam's flag)
France: 3 Fleur-de-Lis; Eiffel Tower
Mongolia: Full Soyombo (like the present flag)
Russia: Russian Bear (people might recognize it from Putin's party logo, but the bear has been a symbol for Russia for a long time so it's not like I put a donkey or and elephant for America, plus I think it looks cool)

[EDIT: Should I add a Llama for Incas or Gran Colombia?]
