[BtS] DIPLOMACY: a mod for Diplogames!

hey The Capo, i just remembered that i had made a skin for a "continental" type musketman long ago, but never uploaded....i am enclosing the grenadier dds the redcoat .nif and musketman dds. i think u can use the standard grenadier nif with the dds enclosed...if u want to use it as a musketman, u can use the enclosed redcoat nif with both dds files....i never uploaded these because there were some pretty good minutemen already made....there is one from C. ROLAND and one from Bakuel....check'm out....PM me if you want any changes, suggestions or other skins....:)

Unfortunately, I couldn't find any reference pictures for cavalry. I think the addition of the Salakot(pictured here: http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&um=1&sa=1&q=Salakot&btnG=Search+Images&aq=f&oq=), and brown skin of course, would be good enough.

The UU changes are also good, will you still consider UB changes? At least Dun (Guerilla 1 for archers and longbowmen) and Salon (you want scientists? Screw you, you get a free great artist. MWAHAHAHAHA.

Only one other balancing item has come to mind: Giving an extra bonus to the Serfdom civic. As it stands, it's a pretty pointless civic as by the time you reach it, your workers won't be doing all that much.
I was thinking that giving farms a +1 hammer boost might work.

I've been trying to come up with a good way to make castles not become obsolete so quickly. Sadly, I can't come up with a good historically accurate method. It makes sense for them to obsolete with the birth of the free market.

That does look good, however with the size of the mod it would greatly increase the possibility of MAFs. I'm sure it could easily be modded though if you want to put that in yourself.

I have another idea too; what does everyone think about replacing the Arab UU with the Ansar?

Would they be knights with additional movement? That could work. Either that or give them Drill 1.
I like that idea a lot more than camel archers.
 
I'm not entirely sure what the Ansar abilities will be, but I've always hated the Camel Archer as a UU. Not necessarily the fact that its a Camel Archer, but its a crap UU for a civilization that was pretty dominant for a while.

Another thing; when I switch the HRE to the Franks I think their UU will no longer make sense. So any ideas as to a replacement UU. It doesn't have to be a pikeman it could be anything else. I just don't know that much about the Frankish military.

Frankish UU needs to be some sort of siege weapon, since they put such an emphasis on them.
Maybe the Onager? It was Roman, but the Franks used it.

Also, I'd suggest the extra movement or drill 1 for an Ansar knight replacement because the Ansar were famously fast in combat.
 
I want to make a suggestion, add a new leader to the civilization " great colombia ", called " francisco of paula santander " alone you I place Venezuelan presidents and do not place Colombians, (I repeat, only it is a suggestion).
 
Could you repeat that in Spanish please? I'm not that fluent in Spanish, but I could probably understand it better than that.

Also here is a mock up of the Basil II I'm working on. What do you think?

IIRC, a History channel show was highlighting the different barbarian tribes around during the Roman Empire, and they touched on the Franks a bit. Evidentaly, the francisca was rated by them to be the all-around best weapon of the era, and the folks at Creative Assembly (responsible for Rome: Total War) thought the same, and so the francisca is the best weapon in the game.
So perhaps a replacement for the axemen wielding the francisca? The animation could have him throwing it at range, and then use it as a melee weapon when the enemy unit closed in. Don't know what it's special trait would be, though.

It should replace the swordsman, not axeman, due to the time period it was used in.

simon bolivar y hugo chaves son venezolanos, y yo pienso que deberia existir un lider 100% colombiano, al lider que yo me refiero se llama francisco de paula santander. no me parece adecuado poner a hugo chaves como lider, ya que es un payaso que no merece ser lider , ni ser parte de este gran juego.

con respecto a basil II pienso que el nuevo modelo esta quedando mejor, el actual tiene una cabeza muy grande (se ve gracioso).

@ B0n3es; I can try to make that leader for Gran Colombia, and you are right in that there are no "Colombians" as leaders for Gran Colombia. But I didn't want to have to make every single South American country and figured that Gran Colombia would be a good catch all. And I agree that Chavez may not be the best possible leader for Gran Colombia and may not even be a good leader to be in the mod either (considering he never was a leader for Gran Colombia) but the model was so good that I wanted to use it somewhere and that was the best place. I'll probably get rid of him in exchange for Santander though. I will add your leader but you have to give me some time because I am working on so many projects at the moment its driving me insane. I would have replied to you in Spanish but my Spanish is not good enough and I wouldn't want to look like an idiot, plus I'm not sure that everyone else who reads this speaks or understands Spanish. Thank you though for replying as I requested. Also I am going to make a Chilean Civ (eventually) with Pinochet and O'Higgins as the leader in case you are interested in knowing that.

Basil is not nearly finished yet, but I think I am going to continue from the model I came up with. I think its a pretty good likeness and once there is some skinning on it I think it will be top notch.

Not to say that the Canada Corp aren't worthy, it's just that the RCMP has become a big symbol of Canada, to the point where the Canadian stereotype -is- a mountie.
Though I'd imagine that might also be why you went for Canada Corps, although we have the 2nd Canadian stereotype as the UB.

I went with the Canada Corps over the RCMP because they are more of a military unit that has international experience while the RCMP simply does not. Their cavalry unit looks like a mountie though, so that should be sufficient.

That depends, is the new patch an official release or is it made by a modder here? I can upgrade if that is the case, however I would need to know the changes as I am still using 3.17.
