[BTS] Fictionalization IV

I think I may have found a second leader for Transylvania: Nicolae Carphathia, from the Left Behind books, the Antichrist.

I noticed a Cyberdyne Systems corporation. .. ...does this mod actually /do/ anything with that? I've never seen any sort of scripted, emergent civ (outside of Rhy's mods) ...but that doesn't mean noone's done it.
 
At the moment, Cyberdyne works just like any other corporation. Though it would be pretty easy to make a rare event that spawns Terminator units outside of any city with the corporation in place.

But for now, I'm focusing on setting up all of the secondary units for the next big update. In a future update I can easily expand the corporation system (I have ideas for three new corps to match the three added religions) and attach unique bonuses, resources, whatever to them.
 
Great fun! Terrific work! Just downloaded it and the patch today, and was having a grand time, but sadly, once completing the Tower of Babel, games keeps crashing to desktop within a turn or so. Is there a location for fixes?

Btw - any chance for a Planet of the Apes style Civ? I know it's not necc of the time period, but one could argue that in the Ape story, time is cyclical, and our future is also the past... or something... I just want to see a Zaius leader.

Hm, I'll have to check that out. You're using BTS 3.19, right? If it's crashing after a few turns instead of right away it's likely there's a problem with the python code (it's based off of tsentom1's Ishtar Gates).

EDIT: Just did a quick game where I built the Tower of Babel. It worked as it should have and there were no signs of a crash for many turns afterwards. There might be a problem on your end.

Well, I'm going with linear time, so I'm afraid "Apes" is a bit too far into the future for the purposes of the mod.

But if you really want to see a monkey leading a civ... well... I didn't want to give away my plans just yet... but since you asked...

I had been toying with the idea of adding a new civ made up entirely of animals. There's no shortage of fictional "animal kingdoms" to draw on (The Blazing World, Animal Farm, etc.) but it would mainly be based in Africa. The leaders I had in mind would be Babar the elephant and a gorilla, possibly Kerchak from Tarzan but more likely Grodd from DC comics. The King Kong unit I have could be made into their superhero... you get the idea. The main reasons I haven't done it yet are because I would have to make two very complicated LHs for it, not to mention set up a completely new unit set.

Well, for the next update I'm focusing on the Legendary Units feature, which are comgin along quite nicely IMO.

But civ-specific superheroes won't be included until the update after the next one. At the moment all civs have a generic superhero unit, but in the future this feature will be expanded. The majority of supers have been chosen (there's a full list in the mod subforum), but there are still a handful of civs without an assigned super.

And I suggest Napoleon from Animal Farm as a leader.
 
The good thing about Napoleon and Babar is that you already have pigs and elephants in Civ IV.

I'll probably need to adjust some of the units though. Several of those are fantasy creatures and I want the Animal Empire for Fictionalization to be based more on real-world animals.
 
I just realized something. The Animal Empire, like the other civs, would have access to hero units, all of whom are human.

That would kind of throw a wrench in the whole thing.

A monkey wrench?
 
Note: I suggest you remove Ozymandias, since that was the Greek name for Ramses II.
