[BTS] Fictionalization IV

Hey, cfkane, you ever considered adding more fictionalized civs from real life. Canada for example. How 'bout, say, Stephen Abootman from South Park as leader.

Wolverine as Canada's hero? I actually think that you just succeeded in making Canada seem cool to non-Canadians.

Note to Anyone Offended: I actually rather like Canada.
 
That's what modmods are for.
 
I just realized something. The Animal Empire, like the other civs, would have access to hero units, all of whom are human.

That would kind of throw a wrench in the whole thing.

I know my reply's a bit late here, but why would this be a problem? There are quite a few animal superheroes of various sorts. Captain Carrot would likely be the best one, with his world being the animal empire.

Well, true. Plus the game already has the Monkey King as a hero, so there is some overlap.

I guess the problem could be solved by making an ArtStyles set that included alternate animal models for Heroes, so the Animal Empire could get away with building Odysseus and Siegfried, albeit versions of them as apes or what have you.

Of course this would be a pretty big undertaking. You would need a unit set that included animal versions of EVERY unit from soldiers to GPs to workers to the Heroes that Fictionalization adds. Not to mention the usual to do list that goes with adding a new civ to this mod, from setting the flag to planning and programming the UB, UU, LU and Superhero, not to mention the LHs that would be required.

All of which I would have to put off until I get more stuff out of the way like finishing up the last of my LH's and getting the civ-specific superhero system off the ground.
 
Is anyone else getting a CTD in the first few turns? It's happened to me twice when I started a game up just to check the functions and I want to see if it's a problem that's started up with my latest edits, or if it was already a problem with the released beta.
 
How many civs can the CvGameCoreDLL support?
 
You know, cfkane, if you were to make a leader for the Animal Empire... I think I know what Napoleon (from Animal Farm) would look like as an LH.

I like the idea of Mao with Stalin's helmet, pig ears and a pig nose for the LH. And considering we have a pig already in Blender...
 
Patch B for Fictionalization beta 5.0 is released

changelog:

- new artwork for the Tower of Babel by hrochland
- added missing buttons for several leaders
- new LH artwork for Xerxes, Chibinda Ilunga, Jaffe Joffer, and Louis
- updated pedia entries by myself, Dibukk and johnny139

LOVE the mod, sorry that my first post to this thread has to be a bug report, but the new Leaderhead for Louis has been crashing me to desktop. The Civilopedia entry for him is completely blank (no entry, no head, no nothing), but selecting him as a leader is an instant CTD.

I haven't run into him ingame yet, so I'm not sure what that does, but I figured I'd report it to you.

No need to apologize. I always appreciate bug reports.

It may be a little while before I can put up a patch for the patch. But it only sounds like it should be a quick fix - a typo in the ArtDefines perhaps.
 
Okay, this was pretty stupid. I forgot to include the Louis leaderhead in the file.

I'm away from my main computer right now, and thus don't have access to my files. The best thing I could advise is to download the Louis XVI (History of the World) LH from the database and install it in the Assets/art/Leaderheads folder of Fictionalization and rename the containing folder from "Louis (Mel)" to simply "Louis". This is at least until I can put it in a proper patch.

EDIT: some other things that have to be addressed - I was playing a game and I came across a Legendary unit that had been built by a barbarian, so that will have to be fixed. And for some reason the Hogwarts wonder isn't working properly. I'll have to get an experienced python programmer to look at that for me.
 
I like your mod very much, it is something special and humorously.
I have also a question: There is a fantastic heracles.nif in your Artfolder. But i can not figure out what animation he used. I tried nearly everthing, without success.
 
Oh that? That was my attempt at making a unit. I tried to attach it to the Warrior keyframe set, but without any luck. This is why Heracles currently just has the basic Greco-Roman warrior model. I don't have any talent for making units. I'm constantly on the lookout for anyone who could help.
