I'd sure feel more optimistic if Aspyr had added it to the "Coming Soon" section on their web site. I've preordered mine from Amazon in the US and they show a release date of July 13th. The shipping estimate for my order is July 20th, however. We can only hope...
I have yet to see any system requirements for it. Does anyone know if my G5 powerpc iMac will run it? This all that is stopping me from pre-ordering it.

I know that the date is probably bogus but I have pre-ordered BTS for Mac on Amazon anyway. Gotta send some love Aspyr's way for still continuing this title. I had given up hope that this would ever see the light of day.

I assume you have Civ4? If you can run Civ4 to your satisfaction, then you'll be able to run BtS at the same performance, as it uses the same base software. If you don't have Civ4 then you will need it, as BtS is an expansion pack, not a standalone game.

I am confident that the date quoted on Amazon UK is release date i.e. they get the stock before then and can post it the day before, as they do with books and CD albums (so I've heard, I went mp3 download years ago). Whether BtS for Mac is not important enough to ship it before 20th July remains to be seen.
Just spotted July 20th is a Monday so it's unlikely to arrive Sat 18th; fairer bet is Wed 22nd. Sunday 26th has already been cleared for Civving.
Technical question: Is the BtS Mac version the latest i.e. v3.19?
Another technical question: Are you going to have to put the damn DVD in the drive every sodding time you want to play the game?
Glad to hear that its being released!! Just in time for my birthday (July 13th)!!
I'm kind of new around here, and I have warlords right now. Used to be really big into Civ III, but then switched over to Rise of Nations for awhile. Kind of got bored of that because of the rudimentary gameplay. Now I'm back on the Civ Games and I can't wait to go and play Civ IV BTS! Hopefully Aspyr made it possible to mod the files more easily and such, considering that I have some experience from RoN.
Lastly, if any of you has RoN, please click here. Even though the civ games are great, I really want to keep RoN alive, so please start spending time on those forums as well.
msteiner, welcome to the Civ Fanatics mac forums, always glad to meet fellow mac gamers
I don't play RoN, just Civ and World of Warcraft. I don't think the Mac version of BTS will be all that modable like the PC version, but at least we're getting BTS finally.
I got a ps3 a few months ago, so I actually switched over to playing Civ Rev, but I'll probably play BTS on Mac just to support Asypr (I played BTS in Bootcamp last year, was fun).
The Windows version 3.19 HoF Mod is still in late beta testing, and when that is released BOTM will move to version 3.19.
Assuming there is going to be a Mac version 3.19, that will be the first Mac version we support for BOTMs. However, there's no way I can create the mod until I can get my hands on Mac version 3.19. I don't have your touching faith in Amazon's wild guesswork on dates, I'm afraid. My theory is that they will just keep revising their guesses to keep the pre-orders coming in.
You don't have to load a mod to avoid clicking away the intro movies. Open your ~/Documents/Civilization IV/CivilizationIV.ini file using TextEdit. Find the following lines, change the '0' to '1' and save it:
