Hey fellow mac users, I realize that BTS may be a long way off in coming out for mac, . But I would still like to discuss the possibility of it coming out for mac with my mac friends. Macs rule! :trophy:

haha, thanks. I didnt notice. I also thought it would come out later in the year too.

IIRC, Warlords was a summer PC release that came out around Christmas for the mac. Hopefully we will at least be on that kind of schedule.

The Windows product hasn't been released yet, and there's been no announcement of a BTS port yet from Aspyr. So maybe it's a bit premature to assume that Mac BTS will even happen.

I can't imagine that Warlords has sold well. Aspryr's putrid quality control has shot themselves in the foot.

Indeed. I've just now dug out my Civ4 Windows version and installed XP in bootcamp, to play the game as it should be. Not a huuuuge difference, but definitely a noticeable one - especially considering in Windows I'm running on high graphics settings.

I'm probably going to get BTS for Windows when it comes out, and not bother with the Mac version. :(

I wanted to get Windows on my mac, but it's too much money and I don't have that much memory space left. Windows really sucks anyway, the only good thing about it compared with Mac OSX is that it is compatible with a lot more software than Mac OSX. Otherwise I think I can wait till November till it comes out for mac :(.

Yeh, even just allocating 10GB to it really took a hit on my hard drive. As for price, I've got a legal free version back when I was a student :)

I just call it CivOS and leave it at that lol. Often I'm tempted to put Civ4 in autostart lol.

Are you on a mac now?:D

I only have a iMac G5, and no change of runing Windhoos. I hope they while start very soon on BtS by Aspyr.
I do too, but I hate Aspyr, they suck and take ten years.
Just our of curiosity, I looked up when Warlords for Mac was announced: 30 August, with a release during the holiday season:

We have a while to wait before we really need to start worrying about no port at all. I (and my G5 iMac) hope.
This sucks!
I don't want to get windows on my mac, i'll get viruses and stuff!

Let's wait and see what level of 3D support is provided in Parallels 3. VMWare Fusion claims 3D support as well, but I haven't seen anyone report being able to run Civ4 in either of these pruducts yet.

However, I do see this another scribble on the wall for the future of game porting to the Mac OS.

None of this will be any comfort for the large numbers of Mac users still running PowerPC systems.
