[BtS] Merged Mod

I'll bet it's a random event that's firing, looking for something specific, not finding it and crashing the game. Could you post the savegame somewhere so I can take a look? :) I might be able to either fix the save, or give you a solution.

Sure thing! I hope you have a beastly computer though xD All you have to do is load it and hit enter (I made all of my moves that round).

Also you might notice a few things, I have an odd playing style, I try to play it like it's real life instead of an arcade country simulator :king:

*Possible Bug*

In my current games, i have found that i am unable to bombard the cultural defense of an enemy city if i am still inside my own territory. This has happened twice so far, each time the problem is solved by moving inside the enemy territory.

On an unrelated note, are you going to post the source for 0.83 soon? I want to try merging some stuff into it for my own pleasure.

I have noticed this bug too. I have read in other threads from users having the same bug in other mods containing DCM, so I think this is where it stems from. I am not sure if the bug exists in unmodded BtS.

Thanks for reminding me about posting the source. I've updated the file in the download link in the first post for the source files. :)

No I'm not. I haven't read the entire DCM thread. :D I only stumbled into this bug a few weeks ago, and I haven't really had the time to dig into it.

Here's a quick fix for those leaderheads without music.
1. copy the diplomacy and units folders from the sounds folder in Wolfshanze's mod into the merged mod sound directory.
2. copy (from the attached file) Audio2DScripts.xml and AudioDefines.xml into merged mod Assets/XML/Audio overwriting the files there.
3. copy (from the attached file) CIV4LeaderHeadInfos.xml into merged mod Assets/XML/Civilizations, also overwriting the file.
I made no changes other than to establish links to the audio files provided by Wolfshanze.

Thanks for the tip! I always play without sound, so I never notice if anything is missing! :D

v2.85 is out now... time to update (and lots of new custom music/sound/movie files, so if you are still axing them in your mod, you need to watch out for that stuff).

Yes, I've followed the recent debate in your thread. I like a lot of your recent changes, especially the bombard addition.

I can't say when my next release will be. I'm quite busy for the next couple of weeks, but after that things should lighten up a bit. I'm planning to include the upgraded OrionVeteran Inquisition, along with the Assimilation mod from Kael. Assimilation is really cool - more new options for the custom games, so the rules changes are user controllable from in-game.

Please, Ninja2, add the music and sounds in addition to the graphics when you update the mod.

My game is crashing (using this mod) at the same place each time.
Load up the save game as Japan, and use the grenadier just north of the barbarian city of Vandal to attack the city. The game crashes at that point for me. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Yah for Assimilation. That is one of the mods i was going to incorporate when i had time (damn college, why must it take up so much of my Civ time). Were you thinking of adding Seal's Settlers mod too? (thats another one i was going to add, but i cant get it to work, and i don't have time to play with it right now). Anyway, take your time, i really enjoy your work.

Well... the save that you've posted does NOT crash on my crappy laptop! :D I am able to attack with the grenadier, and then capture the city on the next turn. So I don't know what to tell you... have you enabled logging? If not, try to do so and tell me what the logs say afterwards. Please use private messages for this.

Progress report on the next version... Better BTS AI 0.40 included (except their changes to aerial combat, I like my own model better! :D), and Assimilation also included. Two test games ran smoothly so far.

I know you haven't added all my custom movies and diplomacy music because of the 10MB limitation on CFC's database, but there's no extra hassle if you just upload your work to FileFront or MegaUpload or one of the other FREE servers, and you simply link the CFC Download link to your upload host... just the same as I do for the Wolfshanze Mod... there's a box in your CFC Download link (when you edit it) to link to an outside site instead of using the CFC database... it will allow you to keep the music and soundtracks and you won't have to worry about a 10MB limit.

Yeah, I'll probably do that. Or I'll look into using an installer, like phungus does, and simply copy all the media from your mod on the user's system.

The mod install script I use is in my sig. It's pretty easy to set up your mod this way, and the big plus to it is it makes that desktop shortcut. The NSIS installer also self compresses the mod. When I checked it against the best .zip compression it was nearly identical (I think it was a couple KB smaller actually, but in a 600MB file that's nothing).

Assimilation looks like a good addition, think I'll suggest that to glider and see what he thinks about incorporating it into the RevDCM core.

Assimilation gives some cool options - and the great thing is that they're just that, options. It's pretty easy to include in the dll, it only took me like 20 minutes to edit the files.
