BTS Patch version 3.03!

The only problem I've noticed since patching to 3.02 is the Wonder Movies crash (simple solution turn them off).

The length of time between turns is annoying, but I fix it by watching the AI move. My Espionage rate is usually high enough that I can see half the planet, so I get to see a lot of movement. I found that if I uncheck the option (Show AI Moves) it takes just as much time as if it was checked. So why not leave it checked.

Although I do wish they wouldn't wander around so much. Much of the AI moves is just an Infantry or a Cavalry moving through the same three (six) tiles over and over again, and it gets worse if the AI has Railroad. I don't see a reason for the movement.

If that is all they fixed in 3.03, I'll wait til 3.04.

I have seen them do this with Destroyers; I assumed they were looking for subs. Perhaps something similar is the case, here? The answer is probably lurking in the sdk somewhere.

This patch did not fix the military academy problem. Also, this patch has some bug on the graphic on the battle. anyone has the same problem?

The reason this patch didn't fix anything is because of Quality Control- It was finalized on August 6th, and released exactly one week later.

Seconded - every time I try to use a hyperlink within civopedia, the game crashes.

Can we have a patch to fix the patch please.

Thirded!! I'm very :gripe::gripe::gripe::gripe: !!!!!

However, there are many threads about the Civilopedia crashes with 3.03, like this: Civilopedia makes game crash to desktop.
The only thing you can do is uninstall/reinstall the game or waiting for the next patch..
:aargh::aargh:

Or not use the civilopedia - I only use it when looking at the difference between regular units/buildings and unique units/buildings at the beginning of the game.

hmm..maybe we should NOT start blaming the crashes on the programmers, and start analyzing our own computer systems?????

My system runs the game like a champ...no crashes, no real glitches.

Although, I've only played BtS in multi-player LAN mode with no more than 18 civs.

I'd blame a shotty / corrupt OS load or outdated hardware or something else...come on everybody Civ4 is a highly addictive great game that causes extreme loss of time management skills, and one more turn syndrome. There's not another game that can do that...is there???

Treinacles, just try clicking randomly around the civilopedia and I guarantee that you will get a crash. It is unrealistic to think that it is our computer systems if everyone is getting the crash.

I haven't had any problems with crashes. The game does slow down significantly in the late game though. Still, I've played a game on a large Terra map with lots of colonies and it works in the end.

The slowness of my own moves in war is probably worse than the lag between turns though.

I'd guess that most of these problems are caused by Civlization IV having incompatibility problems with the new DirectX version they applied. Considering this patch has a very slim amount of features, the Fireaxis developers likely didn't do much testing for it. However, before you throw your disrespects, you probably want to blame DirectX's developers for making even more crappy documentation for their SDK (it wouldn't be a first, nor a second, not even a third time).

|Krazr| your words are untrue.
I got DX10 and Civilization 4 is working normal without this patch. So people with new DX does not have any problems with it (at least me).

I believe he is referring to the DX9.0c June redistributable that is bundled with the patch. (DX10 is completely separate, and incompatible with DX9, so Vista has both, therefore DX10 can't cause problems with DX9).
