[BtS] Rise of Mankind 2

Seems to be a bug (feature?) where the Bakery requires a Granary, but if I build a Modern Granary I can no longer built it. Seems kind of silly to have to build the bakery first so as to not lose the ability to build it once the modern granary becomes available.

Yes, that's it. Thanks.

Btw, I really appreciate your mod (CAR). Good job.

I love playing this mod but can't get past around 860-1000 AD. This is the third game I've played and experienced this problem; I redownloaded/reinstalled RoM for the last two. I have an almost brand new system with 4GB RAM... I've made the graphics levels low, etc etc. Does this mod conflict with Vista or anything? I'll upload the game, play a few turns and I get a crash at 955AD. If anyone can offer some advice would be helpful.

Thanks

Actually the CAR mod is the work of stmartin who also made the great The History of Three Kingdoms mod. Afforess just did the nice work of merging it.:)

I love the Rise of mankind mod which I download the 2.71 and I want to say great job, but I want to know why it is slow loading when starting up the mod?

How slowly it loads on your computer? It takes less than 30secs on my computer. Maybe defragmenting your harddrive helps?

I see. Well, Good job to both of them :)

Great mod!
Well, I have a problem concerning unhappiness in cities. People "long for the open country" and it's "too crowded" for them. What triggers that and how can I avoid that more and more people get unhappy. Is there a relation between country improvements built by workers (e.g. farms, mines) and increasing unhappiness?

Um, well, Shaft mines cause unhappiness, but it can be negated by building lots of temples. :)
Oh, and the Olympic Games. That should be built in your most unhappy city. Watch as it never gets unhappy again.

Other than that, I don't know what yearns for the open country means to be honest. Too Crowded will always happen by the way. It's a vanilla feature and probably can't be changed.

I tend to built as much mines as possible even if I cant use them yet. I guess thats a mistake then.

Or, just pillage your shaft mines, then they become regular mines again, which don't give unhappiness. Sure you lose 1 :hammers:, but thats better than losing one citizen's total output from unhappiness.

Of course, once you have enough happiness, let them grow again.

I'd like to know why Shaft mines have been confused with Strip Mines. Really, that does need to be changed a lot. :)

Yea,h Strip mines will cause Unhappiness. Shaft mines are basically the same as regular mines.

There should be no unhappiness penalty. I mean, there's no unhappiness penalty for having Nuclear missiles in your cities, so how does Shaft mines cause Unhappiness?

Also, do Nuclear Power Plants cause unhappiness? Because that would make a little more sense.

Those who are wondering what kind of mod this is, check these videos I found from youtube:

Part I
Part II
Part III
Part IV
Part V
Part VI

Total of one hour of RoM gameplay :) Looks like he's playing without Revolution and Barbarian civ components so effects of those can't be seen in the videos.

Hey, thanks for putting this up here. You may want to put it in your forum though, as it definitely took me about a half hour a searching to find this.

Hi! I love the mod, I love the new religions, units, resources, techs and everything, its my favorite so far; but this s*** is silly.

I was playing a perfect world map, noble, and its like 300 ad. I'm the most advanced, no where near getting navigation or compass or w/e so I can't go over oceans yet.

Apparently, the holy roman empire found a way to use galley units to transverse oceans!!!! They have a colony! Like, for real, this is total BS.

Either somehow the mod knew I used world builder to give myself horse and was getting back at me or this mod is screwy and totally unfair!

You can cross the ocean before Astronomy, but there is a chance that your boats will sink, like Civ3. Apparently, the Holy Roman Empire got lucky.

This is no bug, it is standard behavior.
