[BTS] Slow loading of leaders and advisors

Is it normal for Beyond the Sword to load the Advisor screens (Civics, Foreign, Economy) after a second or two? The same happens with leader diplomacy screens too. In the vanilla version and Warlords it loaded in a second, with no wait. Now why does it take the additional time? Is there a solution to it?

I already tried the memorysave = 1 method to no avail.

I use Windows 7 32bit. My laptop has a dual core 2400 Ghz processor, and a Nvidia 9700m GT video card.

DO YOU HAVE BEYOND THE SWORD INSTALLED?
DO YOU USE WINDOWS 7 TOO?
DOES THE GAME LAG FOR A SECOND OR TWO IN THE ADVISOR SCREENS OR WHEN THE LEADER OF ANOTHER CIVILIZATION TALKS TO YOU?

try setting hidemoviebackground from 0 to 1
also post your dxdiag results file

Does it happen to you too? Why should the movie_background thing work with the advisor screens? Why it happens only with Beyond the Sword?

Ori, wunderbar! The hide_movie_background thing worked like a charm... then it's a problem with nVidia cards? I have the last drivers! °__°

in my experience some graphics cards and/or drivers don't work terribly well with the way they implemented the transparent background - so that often removes quite a bit of lag.
