[BtS] Star Trek Mod

I'm having some major issues installing this mod.

For starters, whenever I try to play a game, it is completely unplayable because all I get is a pink screen (Character icons are also pink). This is probably because I installed the arts and sounds pack incorrectly, but I can't seem to find out how. The read me says to install it in the C:/ Program Files:/BTS folder in "assets" but all that is there is a "MODS" folder. So I install it in the My Games folder and even make "Assets" folder myself and try installing it and it doesn't seem to be helping.

...any help? This is like the third time I've tried installing this thing in the past couple of years and I've never been able to get it right.

Well, I got the pink icons working, but now I can get a game started. I run through a game set up, watch the little intro movie thing, and then the it just hangs at a black screen not loading anything.

Hiya - I've just joined, so still working things out...
I tried downloading the mod, or any of the files, but none of the Filefront links seem to be working...any ideas?

That's prompt work, Deanej. Well done!

I cant get it to work at all. I put everything in the right folder and if the folder wasnt there, I created it. As far as I could get was to load a mod from the main menu, then click one of the Star Trek mods to load, then the whole game crashes. Is there an installer or something?

I suspect it isn't installed completely right. My main concern is that you said you had to create folders. Those folders should exist before the mod is installed. If they don't, you're looking in the wrong place, or civ itself is installed wrong (or possibly in a different location; these instructions only deal with standard installation from the vanilla CD with BtS on top; not downloaded civ, gold, or complete).

Another thing to check is your version of BtS. If it's 3.17, do not install the 3.19 update to Star Trek. If it's 3.19, you must install this update.

I am at 3.19 and I did think to install the patch. Could my mistake have been installing both patches? The 1.2 for the mod and the 3.19 Oh, and its the Civ 4 Complete DVD that I have

Civ 4 Complete does install to an alternate location, so the files need to go there. It's probably something like C:\Program Files\2K Games\Firaxis Games\Civ4 Complete or something like that. Once in that folder, the folder structure will be the same.

The 3.19 update for Star Trek only makes Star Trek work with 3.19, so it was not a mistake (you actually need both or neither, as the base version of Star Trek is for 3.17).

Thanks for you time and helping. I put everything exactly where you said and went to load the Star Trek mod and the screen flickered a bit like it was loading then I got "Civilization 4 has stopped working". Any ideas?

I've released version 2.0 (download on first post). I've merged the art/sound pack into the main download so there's only one (larger) file to download. It's a full install; you may want to delete/rename the mod folders before installing it but that shouldn't be necessary. The changelog can be found in this post.

I've released the 2.07 patch, on the first post. It has the following fixes/updates:
•Corrected install instructions
•Weak barbarians from goody hut spawns Warp 5 Ships
•Strong barbarians from goody hut still spawn Light I but spawn the same number as weak
•Fixed bug where players started with Subspace Corridors tech when playing an era other than Enterprise
•Removed the intro from "The Emissary" from the Voyager/Future era music
•Restored old Dominion diplo music (intro from "The Emissary")
•Current Dominion diplo music assigned to Vaadwaur
•Alien Vessel: 1 strength/move, free combat 1
•Goody hut event giving Light I gives Alien Vessel
•Goody hut event giving Exploration I gives Deep Space Probe
•Alien Vessel barbs spawn in early portion of the game

HI,

I was just wondering if there was any where I could download an older version of this mod? I can't install BTS patch 3.19, for some reason every time I try my game wont play. I've tried it about 3 times and every time I have to system restore back to 3.17. Is there any where I could download an older version then.

I want to add the federation to the Borg collective so badly.. :scan:

Sorry, I no longer have a pre-3.19 version (and it would be way outdated anyways). One thing to try: if you have the CD version, you can try getting the patch from a different source (the updater, the Firaxis website, here, We Play Civ, Apolyton). If you have a download version you must use the patch from the location you got the game from.
