Ok ....that may be a big part of the problem. (i use the steam version too by the way) Some years ago after Gamespy closed the Civ4 servers, Steam created their own version of civ4 + expansions, making it compatible with their own MP systems. Not a major change but still enough to conflict with mods. The Steam version has some different assets. So steam created (after the huge uproar lol) a BETA version with original assets. You must switch to this version before installing and running Buffy.

So you should switch to the BETA "original release" version by clicking on the BTS properties in Steam and going to the BETAS tab. However, I would recommend fully uninstalling/reinstalling first.

Also, I recommend running the game from the BTS executable (not within Steam..just have it running). Run the game in Win 7 mod with "run as admin" checked.

Then go through the HOF fixes again.

Welcome to GOG! Or not. So I have obediently applied the various fixes and seem to have arrived at the need for NZ patches. I got the HOF warning that I wouldn't be able to submit files...

I am but can you please check your path as it really doesn't look right, it should be something like "C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\Civilization IV Complete\Civ4\Beyond the Sword\Civ4BeyondSword.exe".

You read it right. I was also ask this to the reddit, and one of the guy told me that install the game to another directory other than "C:\Program Files (86)\ might fix it. I do so and make another folder (Games) inside the C:\ Folder and install it there.

A person after my own heart. I haven't played in almost 10 years. Nice to see lymond is still helpful as always. I was able to follow your conversation and (I think) I have it working.
