Bug Reports and Technical Issues

Great!

The mod loads now but this happens Civ4ScreenShot0001.JPG

You need to set write privileges in your OS for the DoC folder.

Right click your DoC folder and select properties. Depending on your OS you should be able to set it to write protected, you need to disable this option.

I'm having the same problem as Flash59, and every time I disable "read-only", it just resets itself to be read-only immediately afterwards. I'm on Windows 8.1. I've tried googling the issue and can't find a solution that works. Anyone know a fix? Or is there any way to disable BugOptions or the Event Log?

The problem where the event log is filled with "BugOptions - failed writing INI file" over and over again. I think I fixed it - I had to enable write privileges specifically for the Autolog.ini file. For whatever reason, when I try to do that for a folder and all contained folders/files, it simply resets immediately.

There seems to be a problem with the launcher download; after I downloaded the launcher, when I tried to run it there was an error message saying that 'the setup files are corrupted'. Trying to download the github version as a zip file didn't work either; WinRAR couldn't read the zip file. Any ideas?

I'm pretty sure that is because your download didn't complete correctly.

If your internet connection has issues that might be the reason.

about nazi germany

i heard that they made oil from coal for war.

so how about prussia can make tank or jet plane ? with a coal even there s no oil.

as u know in germany there s no oil in the map too.

so always they couldn't make tank or battleship like that war weapon.

just my thinking :)

Latest pull Something seems to have screwed up the game for me as this screenie shows. I reinstalled everything but the problem remains.

Theodesian Walls and Hagia Sophia messages worked but all the other events weren't correctly displayed for me.

Once again thanks so much for the work.

Edit: further to this, some events do work while others do not (screenshot). My copy was fine at the weekend so I think it's this newest change.

Edit2: actually I retract all this about versions (reverting didn't fix it): the issue doesn't appear to arise for all civs. France is fine, as was Spain at the weekend, but Italy and Mongolia give me these errors. Perhaps they start after some date in the loading before start? I'm playing 600AD.

Edit3: A restart seems to have fixed it. Typical!!

Okay, thanks for the report, I will keep it in mind in case the bug shows up again.

after a long while, i returned to doc last weekend. it's amazing what has happened here!

anyhow, i'm writing here now because i encountered the very same problem as omnislip just reported - in my case with the french at a 600 AD and the japanese at a 3000 BC start. everything seems to work just fine, however... if it wasn't for this endless stream of event handler error messages.
I can provide you with saves and screenshots tomorrow, if needed, have to go to bed now.
But let me say once again how excellent this mod is. It really catches me completely, forgetting everything around me. Thank you!

Thanks for the positive feedback!

Looks like the event handler problem is confirmed then. I will investigate soon.
