Bug Reports and Technical Issues

Hi Leoreth, would you check out this save from XCTheSeawolf, a player from Baidu Tieba.

He reported a bug that when he(Germany) took Russia's last core city, instead of falling into a full collapse, Russia had all of its units removed.

He said it's likely a bug because until revision 990 a normal collapse would happen.

Can you verify whether it is a new bug or is it working as intended?

Aaaaannnnd obviously rev. 993 game won't load.
So the save is from revision 990? They should be compatible though.

Okay, got it.

It was a bug, fixed now.

You mean after selecting the scenario? Can you tell me what you did exactly?

Let's see:

I selected China 1700 AD Marathon speed. Crashed on me.

Selected Egypt 3000 BC Marathon Speed. Crashed on me after the second turn.

Selected Egypt 3000 BC Normal Speed. Crashed on me after the second turn.

All games were set to Regent difficulty.

Nope, I have the same problem, it seems to affect all civs regardless of scenario. Please revert until I'll be able to fix this.

Hi Leoreth.
I was a huge fan of RFC, but now that I can't play RFC any more, I've moved on to your "spirutual successor" to that creation. So far I've been mightily impressed

Well, I wouldn't be posting here unless I had a problem, and rather than thumb through 85 pages of posts I'll just leave you with my save, my python log, and a brief description.

I have version 1.12 and I don't use the SVN folder thing you created (I see v 1.13 is close, ok great!)
I was playing Rome and a CTD occurs after I end my turn on the given save - and at least (it appears) after the barbarians "play" their turn.

Ok the rest is all yours.

Great to hear!

Okay, I will take a look. It's very likely though that this is one of the CTDs fixed during the development of 1.13, so if I can't find an immediate solution you might have to wait until 1.13 is released.

Rev. 993 is when the bug first appeared. Try 992 instead.
Yeah.

hallo! thank for creating of the mod. Can you help me. how can set up "new random seed after reloading"?

You can edit the scenario files to add this game option. I'm not on the right computer at the moment so I can't be more specific, will come back with a better answer later.

This was posted a long time ago but you never answered - at least in the thread (maybe by PM?) Can you or anyone answer this?
This would be one (quick, dirty) way to possibly overcome some bugs or errors and also help me in my play-style (I don't compete with anyone - it's all for personal enjoyment so a new random seed benefits me.)

Sorry for forgetting about this. This is how you do it:

Go to the Public Maps folder and edit all the scenario files in there. It's possible that Notepad doesn't work, so you might need to download a more advanced editor like Notepad++.

You should already see two lines starting with Option= at the beginning of each file. Right after those, you add another line that reads "Option=GAMEOPTION_NEW_RANDOM_SEED".

Ok thanks, I was sure when I couldn't find the line in the .ini file that I needed to add something, but I just wasn't sure exactly what to add.

Also, you can edit in notepad, just when saving the file you have to enable saving for "all files" and then name it "whatever.ini"

As someone mentioned in September 2014 I also noticed the same error when trying to change the number of past turns viewed on the F8 graphs, and I didn't see where you mentioned a fix.
If it's just an easy python fix you can just tell me what to add and where since obviously very few people (two!) have ever used this feature.

Actually I remember running into them myself. It's a BUG mod feature, don't know if I can fix it.
