I tried it both ways. The problem is unaffected.
I don't know if relevant:
When updating through SVN there was a "conflicting file". I deleted and reupdated to fix it. It was the CIV4CityLSystem.xml in the Assets/XML/Buildings file.
Did the problem appear before or after you did that?
The problem appeared after I did that.
Hi, i've been playing DoC about an year ago and had to quit it, but now that I'm trying to play it again I cant manage to load the mod. I've downloaded it, copied it into mods folder but it doesn't run. I'm not sure if this is the right thread, but anyway, is it common?
What do you mean by "it doesn't run"? Does it crash, or is it just that nothing happens? If the latter, is there a BeyondtheSword.exe task in your task manager? What happens if you load the mod by launching one of the scenarios in the PublicMaps folder?
Nothing happens. I've tried opening the mod from the game and from the scenarios in PublicMaps. When loading from BtS, the game doesn't even appear on the task manager. When i run it from the scenario, the game loads in vainilla BtS
I've found no problems with this. Can anyone confirm the problem? Otherwise I suspect you haven't resolved the conflict correctly.
Good to know you could get it to work.
I've also looked into the issue with great statesman names, but what I had in mind for what could cause the problem turned out to be fine. Can you provide me with a scenario where your early statesmen end up without name, or which civ lacks statesmen names?

First of all, thank you Leoreth for this mod! I really enjoy playing it. I played Civ4 many times before, but when i found this mod I started playing again. I already finished it with 7 different civilziaitons.
But now when I play as Spain my game stops working after 1600 (no message, everything freeze) I use SVN version(last update march 02). I tried using saves a couple of turns before to change situations and finally found that some of these things might cause my crash:
* If continued from 1600AD save, then incan and french are vassalized. Also I have Marseille. Then crash.
* If continued from 1585AD save, then I am at war with incan and french(but have Marseille conquerred). Then crash after 1600AD
* If continued from 1575AD save, then I am at war with incan and french...but not conquered Marseille. No crash after 1600, but then in 1605AD Incan civilziaiton collapses, and my Trading company is built.
I suppose it is the problem with Incan, right? If I also remember correctly, I had crash when fighting with Aztecs... but then I delayed some actions(like vasalizaiton, discovery of them, capturing cities) and everything was later fine.

When you say the game freezes, there's no crash to desktop? Do all animations stop or do you get the impression the game is stuck in a loop somewhere?
If you can upload all the saves you mentioned here that would be great already. With your excellent descriptions of what does and does not cause the trash I'm sure I can locate it.
