Bug Reports and Technical Issues

Are these BUG messages normal?

If not, is there a way to fix whatever is wrong with the installation?
If yes, is there a way to remove them?

No. It's mildly annoying but doesn't seem to do anything.

Hi!
Thanks for the great mod!

I have some problems running the game however. Are my computer specs up to date regarding this mod? I have a laptop:

Windows 7 64 bit
Intel i7-3610QM 8-core 2.3 Ghz
8192Mb RAM
Graphics card: Geforce GT 640M

My load time for Korea (50BC) in the 3000 BC start is around 3 minutes.
I started playing as the Dutch and my game crashed at around turn 5 to a "bad memory allocation" failure.

Could I still affect my game experience by tweaking the game settings or is it a hardware issue?
Thanks!

Did you try to turn graphics paging option on/off? (It's in the first tab of BUG options.)

I've had similar Bug messages FWIW
It appears you have to configure your Autologs (or Dawn of Civ with cascading permissions) folder to have write permission for your Windows user.

Yeah, try this please, it should get rid of the problem. And thanks for playing!

(I will look into ways of having this feature disabled by default, it seems like it causes problems for more people than it helps.)

This solved the problem partially, but I still get the first "failed writing INI file..." message.

Unfortunately, this only gets me more messages of the same type..

Pulastro, select the mod folder in Windows Explorer and go to Properties. Under Security, set everything to allow for all users. This should fix it.

Tried to bribe a babarian unit as Byzantinum and recived some strange messages. (See attachement.)

And I regularly get the message that "my relations to nation X (can be anybody) are detoriated", but nothing happens. There is also no diplomatic reason for this.

Noted.

This worked, thanks! :goodjob:

Had been looking forward to the update for quite some time and this was kinda ruining it for me.. :)

Yes, now I turned OFF the graphics paging and no more memory failures!
Thanks!

I had the same issue, with graphics paging I got constant memory failures every few turns, disabling it took care of that.

How come a feature whose whole purpose is to help players with weaker computers play the mod actually makes things worse for those same players?

Krishna Deva Raya and Bolivar don't seem to have an intro message.

'Canada' tiles that are also either 'Pacific' or 'Atlantic Coast' only show the coast quality and not 'Canada'. Can be misleading.

Also suffered a MAF :( Sadly my screenshot didn't work for some reason. I have a save from 2 turns prior, can attach if it helps.

Another issue: game crashed to desktop while trying to exit to main menu.

EDIT:
This commit is officially unplayable for me. I get crashes ALL THE TIME. Reverting.
