Bug Reports and Technical Issues

Well the Arabs now captured Asia Minor from Byzantium instead of the Turks
Nevermind the Caliphate just violently exploded, but there's very little time left for the Seljuks to expand until the Mongols arrive

Are you using the old version of the game via steams beta tab? If not try that I don't know if RFC needs it but other mods break on the Steamworks version. I'm using the github version with no problems via steam myself see no reason why the download would be different.
Just tried it, didn't help... Thanks for the advice anyway!
I'm probably gonna try just redownloading Civ entirely and the mod itself.

UPD: Redownloading didn't help. In the end I just set HidePythonExceptions to 1 in "Documents\My Games\beyond the sword\CivilizationIV.ini" and checked the file as Read-only so that at least it doesn't throw 10 pieces of Python Exceptions every time I load a save. It isn't affecting the gameplay in any way anyway.

This is a bug reports thread. If you want to share what happens in your game please make a separate thread for it.

When a vassal has capitulated, its land area requirement for freedom is shown as red if it's over 50%, rather than under 50%. I'd assume that's a bug considering they're free at 50% or lower?

Hello. I have an attached screenshot of a statesman in Republic civic with Porcelain Tower built only giving 1 food? is this a bug?

Additionally, I got a whole bunch of harmless Python exceptions (or something like that, I just clicked through them and am not a technical guy) when Iran spawned.

FWIW custom game as Qin Shi Huang, normal speed, monarch, no random events.

As a sidenote, does no random events break any scripted RFCDOC related things? Thanks

If either of these needs a save file I can try to go retrieve it.

No, specialist food is capped at 1.

If you haven't played again since then, they should still be in the PythonErr.log file in your Logs folder (next to the savegames). If I don't know what the errors were I cannot do anything about them.

Or if you have a save from before that would also help.

I don't think it would, but as always changing game settings comes at your own risk.

So I don't have a save file from my game I posted a screenshot on, but I've managed to reproduce it starting from another save (commit cc211e889.)
Press end turn twice for a legion to start building a road at at X:80, Y:55.

This is from 1490; if you advance 2 turns they appear. thanks. not sure if the log file is right or not (also would not let me upload as .log)

You uploaded PythonErr2.log, but there should have been a PythonErr.log file as well. If not, you might need to enable logging first. But the save should already help me to reproduce the error and address it.

The Holy Roman Empire did not appear. Python error messages were thrown every turn. Russia appears only after my collapse in Kazan and Kyiv.

Not a bug, but a sanity check on where Conquerors can spawn would be nice.

A definite bug happened with the Mongols on 1.17.0. The labels say "The Mongol hordes have invaded Persian/Arab territories" right on the Mongol spawn turn (1189 AD) yet the massive stacks of Mongol units never emerge not at this turn and not even on the turns later. The invasion of Rus' messed up again with three stacks spawning instead of four, and this time I did no experiments so there's clearly some strange bug with the Mongols on this version. Attaching a save from a few turns before the Mongols spawn.

This is a minor thing, but the "Killed" statistics seems to be incorrect. This is a pacifist game with Mali, so I never killed Janissaries etc., only Impies and Barb Camels

Did you start as Mali from autoplay? Or played another civilization before that?

I reloaded a few saves, and the Kill counter was correct until c. 1640 AD. So whatever happened between 1640 and 1657 messed it up (maybe it started counting independent kills in Asia Minor / Balkans? Given most kills are Janissary / Great Bombards)

Hello,
I have the GitHub version &after 1.7 the game crashes every time I try to start a match. Is there some conflict with cached saved maps maybe ? Any clue ?

If you start a new game there should not be any savegame issues. Please make sure that you have entirely removed any old installation before getting the new one.

Is it normal / intentional that OB agreements automatically dissolve if I lose contact with a civ? In my Mali game, I OB'd with several European civs, and after a while when I re-established contact with them the OB agreement was gone. Resource deals did not have the same issue, those were permanent up until actively cancelled via a diplomatic pop-up
