After I get about midway into the game, and when I use the world builder, all of a sudden the world changes color and it is really wierd? any1 no what is happening?:(

Whenever i get into the game for Approx. 2hrs... the game just shuts down and goes back to my desktop, no message, not real distortion of my desktop just shuts off...

I load my saved game...

Play up to about the same point and again it happens..

Ne one help me?

I have downloaded and installed the v2.08. When I tried to start the game again, the computer didnt read the cd. Said that cannot find the cd.

What should I do?

Found that City Attack Promotion doesnt get calculated in a battle...
Ex. A Swordman unit (Strength of 6 with +5% city attack) with City Raider Promotion (+25% city attack) should make a strength of 7.8 (130% * 6) when attacking a city...but instead it still shows as strength of 6...
The battle odds also seems to be leaving the city bonus out...
Is there any patch to fix this issue already?
Or is it only me who experienced this bug?

Not a bug. City Raider reduces the strength of the defending unit, rather than increasing the strength of the attacking unit.

I cannot start a Golden Age in the late game when I have 3 Great People.

I couldn't start a Golden Age with 2 GPs so I waited until I got 3 GPs but the Golden Age button was still disabled - see screenshot.

I don't think I did start a Golden Age previously in the same game with GP, but I remember that the option was available when I had 2 GPs earlier in the game. I did start a Golden Age with the Taj Mahal wonder (I think that's the right one).

I don't know how to replicate this bug because it only occured late in the game, and my save game is too big to upload here.

this was in Vanilla 1.61.

Alex and i were both at war with Isabella, who owned Seville, Cordoba, and Salamanca. i was war with Hatty/egypt but Alex was not, Hatty owned Thebes as well some other cities.

when i tried to direct him to Salamanca so that i could get Seville for myself, i was surprised to see egyptian cities on the list of cities i could ask him to attack.

WhyDontYouBugPart1.jpg

i clicked "Why don't you attack Thebes", he said "we'll do our best". the only step further i went was to press enter to begin the next turn. it did not cause Alex to declare war on Hatty so that's good. i don't know whether it would make him divert some troops to her city in a wasted effort, i wasn't patient enough to test that. but the option should not have been available to me at all.

@Sapper28: the three GPs have to be of three different types (such as a GE, a GS, and a GP. two of yours were both GEs so the fact that it didn't work was not a bug. many people wonder about Taj Mahal ... it's a free (well, hammer-cost but free as far as GPs golden age and has no impact later on the GP golden ages you produce later in game. welcome to CFC :)

There seems to be a problem when the game has to juggle too many Wonders entered on a single turn. I started Scotland Yard (SY), The Kremlin(K) and The Hermitage(H) in different cities but on the same turn. A few turns later, I noticed that H wasn't in any of my cities' production que. OK, I thought, the game had a buffer collision and the game dropped the Wonder. However, it was greyed out as if it had been chosen. Has anybody experienced this? I have had occasions in previous games where I couldn't understand why the construction of a Wonder hadn't started after I selected it, but chalked it up to my 'second clicking' without depressing the Shift key. In today's case I only wanted to start a single Wonder in each of the three cities so its absence was worthy of investigation.

Maybe try uploading a savegame so that we can see. However, I suspect the problem is simply that you've put Hermitage in a build queue, so it won't start constructing until the items ahead of it are completed, and it will be "greyed out" from being selected in all cities while it remains in the build queue of that particular city.

umm i dunno if this happened because it as a GOTM, but the last one i played, a civ won the space race without access to aluminium???? i checked regularly in the resource trade window and he never had it???

Yes, having access to Aluminium is not a necessity to win the Space Race as it was in Civ3, it is now merely an advantage. Access to Aluminium gives you a +100% building bonus to certain Spaceship parts (which factors down to about a 25-75% overall production bonus once other bonuses are taken into account such as Forges, Factories, Labs, the Space Elevator, and civics amongst other things). However, any player is still perfectly able to produce the Spaceship without any access to Aluminium (or other resources, for that matter) - they will just suffer a production penalty compared to other civs that have access to the resources. :)

Have noticed that I can be at war with a civ and I didn't declare and he claims I did, also peace breaks out without either side declaring. Just started happening recently.

I went over the saves, log, and my notes and I missed the completion of the Hermitage. The completion may have been in a notice while I had a SAVE screen open so I missed it. Also these were three different types of Wonders so two wouldn't be in the Wonders screen anyway. I think I was rushing the game.

Thanks for your reply.

i dont know if this has been posted but i have installed patch 1.61 and for some reason the minimap in the corner is all black except for the cities. what is going on. i mean even when i uncover the fog of war on the actual game map it still apears as black in my lower right corner minimap.

I don't know if its already reported. But I have it several times, that the graphic of a hut is missing. See the attached picture where there is a blue circle around the hut but the hut-icon is missing. when I fetch the hut with the scout I get a goodie. So it is really there.

2 irritating bugs to report.

In combat, when any of the little people aren't involved in combat, they randomly do the death animation+sound, and then come back to life if needed. This happens in every game and scenario, but it doesn't seem to affect the end result, only the animation.

The other bug is that on the civiliopedia entry for unique buildings, if I click on the link to the building it replaces, the game shuts down and gives me the 'Civ has had to shut down' error message.

Any help on either of these would be much appreciated.
