Bug Reports Center

• Barbarian Horde spawning within territory
• Steps to reproduce the bug:
a. Load CIV IV
b. Choose a single player game.
c. Choose Custom Scenario – Ancient Greek
d. Select Roman and press OK.
• When I reached a point in the game where I had around 40 turns left Barbarian Hordes started to spawn within my territories near my cities. I would eliminate a horde and then about two turns later they would spawn again within my territory.
• My expectation, based on what the manual stated, was that Barbarians would not spawn within my territories.

I researched iron working but no iron showed up.
Is this a bug or am I just screwed?
Will iron show up as I expand my cultural influence more?
thanks.

This is not a bug. See the 'quick answers / newbie questions' thread where you posted the same question for more information.

Bug: Zulu Ikhanda does not give the happiness bonus with the Nationhood civic.

I'm pretty sure this isn't a bug, but a feature of theis specific scenario. Barbarians are all voe rthe place and pop-up. You HAVE to garrison cities with lots of units.

I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but here it is:

In Single Player I took Random and got Ottoman, and noticed something i never noticed before: the Churchill charriot did not get their 100% attack bonus vs Axemen even if it was writen.

Was the chariot clearly attacking? Remember, if the axeman attacks the chariot, the chariot doesn't get the bonus. If the chariot was attacking, it does seem like a bug.

Best wishes,

Breunor

I've played a few games of Warlord where I have uranium but not oil, yet I cannot build destoryers/battleships/etc. The CivPedia says that these units require Oil "OR" Uranium.

JD

Be careful here. The oil has to be worked afte the combustion tech. Uranium is confusing. You have to have the fission tech for it to provide 'uranium'. Before fission, you can mine and get bonus hammers, but it doesn't provide uranium as a strategic resource.

Chech your cities to see if uranium and.or oil is listed on the strategic resource list (on the left). If it isn't, you probably can see the resources but not use them as strategic resources.

Best wisehs,

Breunor

Tomart,

Yes, those resources become obsolete. I've found that (and Breunor pointed me in the right direction here (thanks)) the Civilapedia does mention that Uranium is one of those that is made visible by one tech and "usable" by another. One difference is that you may mine is when it's visible-- but you cannot use it to build things like destroyers until you've researched the tech that allows its use.

Unlike oil, for example: also has a "make visible" tech separate from a "make usable" tech AND you cannot access it (build a well) until you've researched the tech that makes it usable (Combustion).

In the civilipedia, you have to review the entry on the tech to see what it makes avail/usable. It'd be nice to have those tech visible on the resource entry as well. If you view the tech-tree, it's easier to scan the techs looking for the icons with a crossed-circle of what it makes obsolete.

Warlords 2.08.

In Hot Seat, the Tech Advisor does not update between players during a single turn.

Steps to reproduce error:
1) Start a Hot Seat game.
2) Play to the 2nd turn.
3) After the 1st player selects a tech to research, the 2nd player has the same Tech Advisor as the 1st.

Known bug - and there is even a fix available ;)

I have noticed that some of my Libraries are giving 4 culture points per turn. I have attached a save file. This a HoF 2.08.003 file.

I'm sure someone else has reported the Kublai Kahn/Qin Shi Huang bug.

All buildings give 2x culture when they are over 1000 years old.

Thanks! The scary part is that I've been playing Civ in one version or another for over 10 years, and I've never noticed it before.

This bug doesn't affect my gameplay, but it's happened consistently enough to be annoying.
My minimap in the corner often has dark spots, where you cannot discern anything. No terrain shows up (But colored squares denoting units, cities, and culture do show up). In the end replay, the black remains there. Culture (etc) still shows up, but the lay of the land is unknown.
I think it's my graphics card. I have an nVidia GForce4 MX (64Mb), which can barely run Civ4 on Medium graphics. I think it causes the Minimap Blackouts, but I am not sure. Help would be appreciated. :\
