2 irritating bugs to report.

In combat, when any of the little people aren't involved in combat, they randomly do the death animation+sound, and then come back to life if needed. This happens in every game and scenario, but it doesn't seem to affect the end result, only the animation.

The other bug is that on the civiliopedia entry for unique buildings, if I click on the link to the building it replaces, the game shuts down and gives me the 'Civ has had to shut down' error message.

Any help on either of these would be much appreciated.

Both are bugs in BtS 3.03 - this patch just messed up the game, alexman just announced that a new patch will be out in about 3 weeks so either wait for the new patch or uninstall BtS and install it again and download the 3.02 patch and apply that one...
 
Civ IV on a brand new iMac = Only two bugs I have noticed:

1) after several hours of game play, the ice bergs turn black (color interface / programming bug?), so I save, exit and restart ... until the ice bergs turn black again ...

2) Early in a new game, the audio expands (uncompresses) and I can hear the iMac power supply buzz on the built in speakers ... after the game audio kicks in (jungle noise and drums, etc.) during game play (territory expansion), the buzz goes away ... (This may be a poor presets to the audio interface for the Apple iMac built in audio = no sound track = maximum audio with no compression = programming default setting ?)
 
Mehemed II's leaderhead is always crashing my game. I tried the fix, but it doesn't work! Can I get some help?
 
is this warlords you are talking about - then patch the game ;)

It is Warlords. Would it make any difference on BTS?
 
yes the mehmed II leaderhead infamously crashed the 2.00 version of warlords so patching the game helps :)

I don't know if this a bug or not, but sometimes in the later stages of an RFC
game, unit upgrades become free. I just finished a good cultural victory as
the Germans in RFC 600AD when this happened. As I had about a thousand
in gold I decided to upgrade a few units To Mech. Inf. Suddenly i noticed
the gold wasn't going down. In the end I ended up with 120 units with
free upgrades. Didn't cost me a penny. This has happened before as well.
Is this a bug? If it is, it's the kind of bug I like.:D :goodjob:

Unfortunately, I cleared my saved games this morning, But it has happened
more than once. And always near the end of a winning game. Maybe this is
one of Rhye's little jokes, eh?:lol:

BTW This happened since I had to reinstall BTS and the 3.13 patch as well. And sorry, what I meant was that I have started other games since, so the autosaves are gone.

Just found out this isn't a bug. Apparently, it's the Unique Power of Germany
in RFC. As soon as they research industrialzation, all units can be upgraded
for free. Guess I should read the Civilopedia more, esp. the RFC section.;)

I have no idea why, but when things come up with a button to press to continue on, the borders turn white instead of the normal blue. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this happens?
 
CIV IV 1.61 and 1.74 will not let me run an operating deficit regardless of how much gold I have. It sets the tech slider back to 23,30,40% etc. after I hit end turn.

Can you provide a screenshot or savegame please? I've used both 1.61 and 1.74 for considerable amounts of time and have never encountered this problem. Are you certain that your operating deficit does not exceed the amount of gold in your treasury? If you are trying to operate at -100 gpt and only have 80 gold in your treasury, your science slider will be reduced as it is for everybody.
 
Was playing BTW at my friend's house this afternoon (hotseat) and he noted that the computer crashes sometimes when playing wonder movies. The religion movies are okay, but the wonder movies cause a CTD and a standard crash message.

It happened, actually: the movie window popped open (box was black) and the audio stuck, clipped, and the program crashed.

Any ideas what's causing this? Has it been reported before?
 
some graphics cards have problems with the wonder movies and sometimes the intro movies. A new graphics driver sometimes helps. Another way around this is to install static wonder movies. To get those just go into the Download database on this site (click Downloads in the panel right under the logo) and search for
Nevermind Static Wondermovies and Leaderheads

It probably is... I've played plenty of Hotseat games on BTS and have never had any troubles with wonder movies. :)
 
Okay, annoying bug to report. Sometimes when I start a new game, a few turns in, year 3725, it says "______ has won a conquest victory!!!" Turns out there was never anyone in the game, but for some reason it waits until that turn to say I won. Every time it's year 3725, epic speed, prince difficulty, usually huge map. And it doesn't happen every time, so I don't know how to reproduce it. Any help? :(
 
the game waits a few turns (I think 15) before checking for victory conditions - if you start without another player that will be conquest. So this is no bug in itself. How do you start a game and end up with no other players without knowing this beforehand?
