Don't know if mentioned before, don't even know if it's a bug...

In Vanilla Version, if I hit F1 (the cities' list) and select a city, the position of that city starts blinking on the map (bottom-left of the screen).

In BTS 3.17 it doesn't blink any more. :cry:

That was a little-important feature for organizing war-time production. I used the "F1 window" to do that, producing slow units (catapults, swordsman) in cities near the enemy and fast units (horses) in the others. Now I have to open every single city to see its position on the map...

Do not consider this. The whole question is resolved by the WON-DER-FUL "BUG Mod" that I discovered just one minute ago.
 
Civilization IV Complete with BTS patch 3.17,
Single player vs 4 IA enemy,
Custom game,
Fantasy map,
Roman civ for me... and at 1960~70 D.C. i have random money at any turn... 700g, 340g, 900g etc!

2nd bug/request:
Why if i give a great gift (money or techs), the IA don't improve with me?

Hey guys I have regular civ 4 and the simple mods I make are not loading up it says its loaded but its just regular civ 4.It should load or at least tell me errors if there is any but it just loads it up like the regular game and doesn't acknowledge as a mod.Is there any way to fix this I have tried a bunch of things none of which work.Help a brotha out.
 
I have uninstalled and re-installed 2 times, tried to use auto update and downloaded both update patches. 1.6, 1.7. Neither of them will install. I get an error message stating... No game found, please install Civ IV and try the patch again, or something to that effect. I have sent an email off to the appropriate support and will see what they say.
Any Ideas?
Also I guess I should say i purchased this game online at, Trymedia Systems, Inc. I have also emailed them and looked in FAQ's no luck...

you need the patches from trymedia - the official ones will not work. Unfortunately the ones that can be downloaded from trymedia and that are linked in some threads here will also not work since trymedia changed their patch scheme recently - so you will have to wait for them to send you a download link for the patch :sad:

i'm seriously getting more than a bit irritated at continuously coming up against a no interface bug , it's happened on several mods before , but most frustratingly it's happening on my own mod now at creation stage.

it occurs when i load a 50civ DLL into the mod

when i revert to a 36civ DLL it goes away

i've attatched a screenshot and the logs , but i'm guessing it's python based by them

download spybot before it gets to your sys32
 
When I try to log on for an internet game, after I put in my username and password the screen just pauses for a second and nothing else happens. I would love to play some real people. Thanks!
 
Just wondering if anyone has encountered this before. I had 8 airships and an Airport in a city (I rushed the Airport). The game would only let me upgrade 4 of them to Fighters. I had to move the Airships to another city in order to do the upgrade. Really weird.

Had you moved four of the airships and not the other four? You probably know but units can only be upgraded if they have movement points remaining (for units that means not having moved at all).

Did you have enough funds?

If it's something buggy, perhaps the upgrade process creates the new units before deleting the old ones, thus hitting the 8 unit limit and not being allowed. (I'm just stabbing in the dark here :lol:)

You need to open a port in your firewall in order to be able to play online. I'm fairly sure it's port 2056. If you don't know how to open a port, trying googling for a walkthrough on opening a port - or just ask here again. :)
 
I'd like to share next info.

How anyone can move airship into black color map.
1. You need open borders with AI.
2. You don't need to know AI map at all.
3. Select your airship, press and hold right mouse button and move mouse cursor over black map. When cursor is green it means that you hold them on AI's city! Release right button and your airship will be moved to that city.

there is another method (written by LowtherCastle):
"It's easier than this. Once you have open borders with an AI, you just click on the re-base icon for the airship. You don't need to hold down anything on the mouse, you just move the cursor around till you find cities that you can rebase to, which, as you say, are highlighted with the green square."

After upgrading my memory, studying this site, installing patches, updating drivers etc., I started playing my 1st game of Civ IV. Works great except for one problem. The sign below each city does not show text. Just colored blocks.
Compaq Presario 5000. 512 RAM. P4 1.60. Nvidia GeForc2 MX. 6.7 gigs free.
Haven’t been able to find this problem mentioned in these forums. Any ideas?

Yes, only graphics issue is this game. And my only graphics issue in this game is the one shown. It even occures in the tutorial. The card is 64MB and, after studying this site, I updated the driver.
