Bug Reports

Was the capital flip thing removed? I just took Berlin and neither Krakau nor Memel flipped, and they're both within range. Berlin was size 13, Krakau size 12 and Memel size 16, if that helps any.

Once, Bordeaux was France's capital instead of Paris. This was noticed immediately after France "spawned". It may have been because Bordeaux had a higher population (you know those Barbarians love their whippin').

Version 1.38, America spawned the way that it should, I gave Jamestown and New York to them. 10-15 I checked trade table and they were researching Iron Working! So it looks like America didn´t get the techs it should. And another bug: I claimed Ningbo from China in congress, it was in Indonesia, I got 5 YES and 2 NO, others were abstain. So I should have got it, but no. No save available, I just let it be and continue to UHV!

Same problem with USA : They spawn, took Chartres (New York location but was not renamed) and hand only one unit in it and not technologies at all.

I found a fix though : Destroyed them. ;)

I did another Japan game to find some new bugs. This is what I found so far:

- Colonization works very well. But AI still have some problems with small islands. Have a look at the attached pictures.

- It seems that some new spawned civs didn't get any workers (or they disbanded them immediately). I'm not quite sure because I only saw this when US spawned. But France and Arabia for example also were very slow in developing their lands so I think they had the same problem. (savegame)

- Bordeaux is always French capital instead of Paris. Why?

Not real bugs but balance issues:

- Again no European power had Guilds before ~1400 AD. Tech developing is too slow until Renaissance/Industrial Age. After that AI catches up.
I would suggest lowering the costs of Middle Age techs and maybe some ancient techs as well (like Construction which always comes very late), increasing the priorities for Guilds (FLAVOR_MILITARY should be 10 not 2). At the moment AI researches nearly everything they can before Guilds which is very annoying and unrealistic. Maybe the cost of Industrial/Modern Techs have to be increased to balance this out.
I will test these changes and see if it helps.

- We had the discussion before but I think new spawned civs should choose their civics automatically when they spawn. When AI is at war it fears to go into Anarchy. Because of this America has still his starting civics (despotism,.. etc.) 10 turns after it spawned.

When I switched from Egypt to France, Paris appears to be built already, but the graphic is a ruins with none of the normal city graphics. You can click on it and get to Paris and it's in the city list, but the graphic is all messed up. Attached is a screenshot and a savegame.

Yes, this was a bug in the past. It is only a problem with France, I think. Rhye got rid of it by making any cities that are present at the player spawning point are destroyed, but after the player spawns it goes back to normal. I thought this might be an issue after he said that that was how he fixed it, but I never switch civs so I just forgot about it.

I started a game with Egypt, and on spawning a got the first 2 UHV and the Trimpharch and a golden age. The Pyramides didn't give a free obelisk (nor the free civics they used to give).

The second Unique History Goal for Japan still doesn't work or I don't understand it. Every tile on Japanese islands was 100% Japanese. But because of my great cultural borders I also controled 2 tiles of Korea which only were 80% Japanese. Is this the reason why I did not achieve the goal? And if yes how can I prevent this?

I'm sorry I don't have a savegame :(. Still forgot to turn autosave on.

I don't like this goal anyway. You can't really do much about it and after you achieved goal 1 which is tricky you can just relax and press the end turn button for the rest of the game. I would prefer keep the third goal "Never lost a single city" and remove the second. Instead a WW2 goal or a modern industrial/economic/science goal would be nice.

I would imagine the coding probably goes by city radius rather than a specific area of tiles, but either way a modern goal would be great.

I played as England and colonized the american east Cost, the cities Annapolis (Washington) and New York. America didn't spawned at the expected moment. I have had the same thing with France not spawning when playing with Rome.
