Bug with Caerbulin

I have Caerburlin as an assassin, he's level 11, has all the combat promotions plus blitz, subdue animal, shock, and cover, and now it's screwed up. It won't let me promote him anymore even though he's glowing blue and has 97/92 experience, and when I put the combat cursor over another unit it refuses to tell me the odds. He can still attack, defend, tame animals, and gain experience, but I can't upgrade or see odds. Also, the "ring" that goes under units for him is always red, even when it says he still has moves and the circle in the unit icon is green or yellow. Finally, the game displays the bottom-left picture, unit icon, and action menu for only the unit that was selected previously to Caerbulin, though the unit name still reads "Caerbulin (Assassin)." I've attached a screenshot of the bug; note that before I clicked on Caerbulin the giant spider two tiles southeast of him was selected. The same occurs no matter what unit is selected first. If a worker is selected it shows the options of building a cottage, farm, etc., though nothing happens if I click on the buttons and it displays the options for the tile on which the previously selected worker is standing rather than the tile where Caerbulin is standing.

Whew, I've tried to be as detailed as possible. Thanks.

Any ideas? I've tried the usual suggestions of restart the program and load a saved game.

im confused about the screenshot.. you have caerbulin highlighted but the little graphic in the corner that shows the unit is a spider

did you try doing something with the spider? could be something having to do with subdue animal.. did u just capture that spider?
 
When I select Caerbulin, it shows as the picture whichever unit was selected before I clicked on him. In this case, I had just been selecting the spider. And the problem started before I subdued that spider, so I don't think it has to do with that.
 
I have encountered the same bug. It happened for me when as soon as I converted him to an assasin. He was fairly high level prior to converting him. I have included a save file just before the conversion.

I have been having these same issues in the warlords exspansion(pre BTS install)
i can not upgrade any units even though they are flashing, though i can buy promos as usual but they do not change the exp counter :2/4 after buying a promotion.
Also when i rt drag and hove for attack odds, it shows me the last tile's units that i hoovered over.

Interesting; I didn't even think you could start up Fall from Heaven with Warlords. Anyway, FfH is not Warlords compatible.
 
AoI definitely isn't - I suspect he's talking about unmodded Warlords.
 
I think there is a faulty unitinfos entery. thats what the screen looks like when it hapens to me. how did this get through play test and kael?

On 6/18, after we had submitted our final tested build Firaxis went through and cleaned up all our art assets. Im not sure what that process entails. On 99% of the units Im sure that was a very good thing (we have a habit of making units without all the nodes the animations expect and that causes errors). But on this particular unit whatever they did broke it. Im building a patch that fixes it right now.

....do you mean to say that the problem won't be fixed until Firaxis's next patch??? Ung that will take ages!! My civ will be dead by then lol....

Sigh...well can you at least confirm that it will indeed come in time for the next patch? Or what do you predict will happen? (if the fix is even made, that is)

PS-I'm sorry, I just get really frustrated to be forced to end something pre-maturely that I decided to devote myself to :( I really do appreciate you trying to help!

It will be fixed in patch 13 (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=243264) which was scheduled to be released this week but it slipped a bit. I would expect it will be out soon.
 
Could you post a change list if you have time? AoI wasn't mentioned on the list that Alexman posted.

1. Caerbulin's Assassin form model fixed. Modified files are in "FfH Age of Ice\Assets\art\Units\Fall from Heaven\Heroes\Caerbulin\Assassin\"

2. The Doviello won't surrender if Lugh is alive. Modified the CvModEvents.py file.

3. Converted to use the new Civ4TerrainPlaneInfos.xml file.

4. Converted to use the new declareWar (parameter added). Modified the CvModEvents.py and CvScreensInterface.py files.
