Bush's Deaf Ear to Congress

From all the cries of "foul" and "rigged!" and "god DAMMIT, I'm moving to Canada" and all the other fuss I heard and saw millions of Americans raise after the final tally, I can only guess that the strange and unexpected thing was that Bush won to begin with....... :D
Where did you see that? It was certainly worse in 2000 and 2004 wasn't much more intense than 1992 or 1996 as far as whiney aftermath.

In 2004, everybody knew Bush wasn't getting re-elected. It was simply not going to happen. Then it did, and all the people who said it was not, were standing there gaping in compete shock and not even noticing that the impact of their lower jaws had dented the sidewalks. Meanwhile I was sipping Dr. Pepper, watching the whole thing on TV and laughing my ass off, because I love nothing more in politics than the strange and unexpected.

Your powers of... reimagining.... history are impressive. Try looking at some actual facts.

The great revolution you're hoping for, Pont (indeed, which both sides are hoping for) is not there and will never happen.

Keep on spouting the rhetoric. I already proved that the 2006 shift was larger than the 1994 shift, which was - rightly - called a revolution and brought about a significant change in governing policy AND philosophy.

But, all the while, everybody will be screaming and yelling that "they should do it my way" and they won't care that they're the minority and are trying to impose their views on a dissenting minority, which was my whole point to begin with.

Actually majorities support the Democratic stance on most policy issues.

These "majorities" opposing progressive policies are what don't exist.

Keep on deeply inhaling those farts, man. You're such an independent, bold, original thinker. Not. You've buried yourself up to the neck in the same bullfeathers common wisdom pronouncements that you are so quick to warn others against. Hook, line, stinker.

But, but.... if that's true, then Basket can't have been an irritable contrarian and smugly proved everyone else wrong with the power of apathetic cynicism!!!!

I say that because that's how it's been happening for the last two hundred.

/meh

We went from very strong executive power then president being subservent to congress and around we go.
EDIT: normallyin times of war. execuative have expanded powers though in this case there was abuse of that power and now congress is seeking to restore the balance in the form off oversight.
