That seems pointlessly arbitrary. The award only says Highest Base Score.

Taking my frickin cow and going home

AU_Arma - I almost feel bad about getting the award. I was trying to have a high score not a high base score so its pretty much a random award. If only you had won the game. The cow was yours. Actually, come to think of it, all of my awards, i.e., the other one , was random as well.

By the way - who names an "award" - "the cow award" - I could see it if it was a "worst" kind of award, but a high base score is okay right? The other cool awards get medals, shields and gloves and missiles. I get a cow?

A common term for someone manipulating the game mechanics to get a high score is that they are 'milking' their game. The person who 'milks' their game to get the highest score has thus earned a 'cow' award.

Cow made sense for a slow, fat, lumbering win (as opposed to a sleek, fast greyhound win).

So if you intentionally go for the lowest scoring win, are you putting the milk back in the cow? That seems to be the Civ 4 approach: build just short of win, then dismantle.

Maybe we should call those woc awards, for reverse cow? ... ... ... ...

Ah - milking it. Makes sense. And yes - I was milking it to try to get a higher score which is what I was going for. Oh well - now my goal will be to get a high score and no cow.
