I'm starting this thread to see if anyone has saved the different versions of Caveman2Cosmos.

I have versions 11b thru the current pre24.

Does anyone Have the 1st 10 versions saved?

And how would we go about finding a common repository for these versions?

JosEPh :)

IIRC strat has a copy of all of the versions, from 1 to 23.

You could also do any version from V13 onward by looking up the release date and checking out the appropriate SVN revision.

Was v13 the 1st to use the SVN? I thought it was later than that, like v16 or 17.

I'm also looking for suggestions on how to make each version available to whomever would like to have it. Hopefully making sure each version is playable. Some of the 1st ones you couldn't get past the Preh era.

Well just because there is more stuff added doesn't mean the version is slower. The C2C coders like AIAndy and Koshling have helped speed up things and even make the mod run faster than RoM/AND despite there being way more content. How they do it is a mystery to me but I am glad they did.

EDIT: Also static Leaderheads did help a lot in speeding things up despite there being more civs to choose from.

Hydro I don't understand your post at all.

Where is "version slower" mentioned here?

All I want to do is keep a record of, and make available, every C2C version.

Yes, the initial SVN was a copy of V13. I also happen to know that V15 was SVN rev. 177, but I don't know the rest off the top of my head.

Unfortunately my backup disk with all early versions has died. Luckily I have two other back up disks and they may have versions on them.

I assumed that since he could not get past the prehistoric era that the game was just too much for his machine. Thus a more efficient game means slower computers can still play.

Now I understand what you are saying Hydro. No, the reference I made to the early versions not making it past the Preh Era was because of how "buggy" they were to start.

Thanks Is612 for the info about the SVN version start. I didn't start using the SVN until I had a better ISP. So I didn't use it for several versions after 13 because I couldn't. Hence my recollection of the later versions start for using SVN.

So if a person has access to the SVN they could pull any version from 13 on up and play that version anytime they wanted correct? (I'm still not adept at using the SVN).

This raises another question could the pre 13 versions be added to the SVN data base?

Is there a download link anywhere for v1?

Only if StrategyOnly still has it or another of the Mod Team. I don't.

I once had them all but last years HD crash cost me the early versions, 1-10.
