C2C Status Promotions

There were two status promotions that I suggested to do with movement which should not end the units movement and perhaps should be available if the unit has any movement left. These are
  • Quick March - doubles the (remaining) movement but makes the unit have 50% or less defense/combat strength and surprise attacks on the unit do more damage. Negates any invisibility the unit has.

    Designed to get across friendly territory quickly but can be used anywhere with caution.


  • Forced March can only be used to get the unit to an existing fortified position or other stack of the same nation. Effect ?

These promotions could be used for units no matter what combat mod is in play or none.

Interesting development. I would have thought a mechanism where the unit arrives at destination with 50% less Strength would be better - so they have to heal on arrival.

Maybe it would defeat the purpose but seems more logical to me

I'll eventually look at it again with some of the combat mod fatigue tags put to use with it. And it could also be adjusted so that it adds a compiling amount of damage every round until the promo is removed. There are other ways to approach it but for now it seems an elegant approach considering they DO need to take a full round to remove an enhanced march status.

Didn't notice that, so they have to be static for 1 turn on arrival? That is good

I said strength:confused: or do you mean health? That does not seem logical to me, they are rushing to get in place so don't have time to be in full battle readiness, they will not have lost half their number.
 
Hi, sorry to ask something maybe obvious, but as a noob in this mod, I really don't understand what do some "status".
As i understand what do forced march, I don't know what do this one :
Status (Surprise) promotionline
What it do for an unit to choose it ?
I choosed it with the "invisibility" both, for my hunter, because "surprise" is a word looking nice and I expect some hidden and surprise attack, but fact is I really don't know at all what it do !!
 
It has to do with ambush, when an enemy walks to a tile that is occupied by an invisible unit it will be ambushed by the unit it didn't know was there, and sneak attack/bonuses will apply to the battle.
