C2C SVN Changelog

Did you try the version that had the mechanism in, but without the BUG settings (ie - the version that was all mediated via global defines)? If so did that version exhibit this behavior?

What map size are you using? Does it wrap horizontally? Vertically?

Yes, I tried SVN at revision 6059 also. Effect was the same as with 6062.
Map is giant, cylinder.
And I also tried full screen. Same behaviour.

After switching graphics level in option from 'high' to 'medium' redrawings stopped. I presume they are still here, just too fast to be perceptible. Please test your changes with high graphics settings(or maybe slower hardware?).

ok so in doing the svn updates do i check the "export unversioned files too" box and the "omit externals" box as well? I'm just curious whether ive been doing it right or not.

Transhuman Techs Patch 1 (Fixed quite a bit of Tech Bugs)

Clean Up my Pedia for Old Techs. Add a few Pedia's for new Techs.

Fixed numerous TechInfos Errors that were causing new Transhuman Techs to not connect to other Techs because of bad PreReqs coding like Whole Brain Emulation, Social Calculus, and Comprehensive Cybernetics among others.

Fixed bad Binary Semiotics tech button. It had no alpha channel.

Slower hardware I cannot easily do. However, I was using 'low' for the graphics (which I'd forgotten I'd set ages ago, for memory saving reasons). Having changed to 'high' , I **CAN** reproduce what you describe. Also, having turned sound effects on, I **can** reproduce the audio annoyance you reported. I will work on these later today, when I have some C2C time.
 
DEBUG or RELEASE DLL?? Clearing the cache have any effect? (on either)

Nope, i still get that ForceControl stuff i mentioned earlier in the Bug thread. Then one leads to 100 errors.
 
Just pushed to SVN (6068):
  • Fixed unit flickering and spurious audio playing as you click around. Thanks Azcore and DH for pointing these out.

Note - you may still get some spurious audio when you move the vie a long way. This cannot be avoided because the game engine plays the 'unit activated' audio whenever the unit entity is first displayed near to where you are watching. Since we page them in when you over a long way in the view, that's the same (so far as the game engine is concerned) as them being newly added.

However, the changes above should mitigate it a lot, and eliminate it as you click around within an area.

Strange thing was that it was happening with option checked off.
There should be no paging if option is not active, right?
Will there be spurious audio in that case now?
