C2C SVN Changelog

Just this:
9401
 • Added the ongameoption prerequisite for the individual promotions on Chase Plans.
 • Adjusted Fortify buildups so that Ruffians can get it.

And MAYBE I can squeeze in some pedia concept page updates later today if you're going to package things tomorrow. I don't care if it gets in or not so don't hold anything up on my account.

Ok upload of v37 should be completed in (see pic)

EDIT:

OK now download is complete and v37 is UP and ready . . .

9404 (My first post-v37 release commit and it's a fairly critical fix for more developed games... go figure.)
 • Disables Air unit mission animation calls again. Something is flat wrong there. Suspect there are missing files needed for proper processing.
 • Adjusts spawn rates for Non-Peace Among NPCs games.

Changed Nightmare Deity, dont know if i got it upscaled or down??

It's now harder then Regular Deity now.

I not sure why you need to have NM include any Handicap level Except Deity. As NM's purpose as far as I can tell, is to give the Deity players another level to play. All else is actually redundant and just extra xml to process.

<French>Mode Cauchemard</French>
<Polish>Tryb Koszmaru</Polish>
</TEXT>
<TEXT>
<Tag>TXT_KEY_GAMEOPTION_NIGHTMARE_MODE_HELP</Tag>
<English>More difficult handicap settings for Diety only</English>
<French>Ajoute des paramètres et handicaps supplémentaires pour rendre le jeu plus difficile</French>
<Polish>Rozgrywka staje siê jeszcze trudniejsza.</Polish>
</TEXT>

There will probably be a lot of players swearing to the nightmare options while never choosing deity difficulty who will be ignorant to the fact that the option does nothing unless one picks the deity difficulty.

It should imo overide all difficulties or be implemented as an entirely new difficulty above deity.

Those that use and have commented on NM knows that it is for another level above reg Deity.

As for New players, the Text blurb for it in Game Set Up screen should read, "Handicap Step above Deity". Or what SO posted.

Why do we need this option in the first place? Either there could be added a new difficulty above deity,
or if this is not possible, all difficulties could be increased a by a level. Then we don't need to tell people
that they should play C2C two levels above their vanilla. And who plays C2C on Settler really?

Ur behind the times here, and if u looked that is exactly what Nightmare NOW is, 2 levels above Deity .. . and PLS people from now on lets keep this ONLY for updates to SVN, and not a discussion thx . . SO . . . .

There was a reason we didn't but I can't recall at the moment why... ah well. Off topic still... sorry SO.

All levels above Noble were adjusted prior to v37 release. In fact it was done back in Sept. That is why NM Option had to be redone. Before the recent adjustments by SO, NM Handicap levels were a full level below the adjusted regular handicaps from Noble on up.

The "need to tell ppl that they should play C2C two levels above their vanilla" is no longer correct or accurate. And no team member should be saying this anymore. There is also going to be another re-evaluation of all the handicap levels this winter after Christmas break. I have noticed the the gradations from one level to the next are not linear nor exponential but some are down right haphazard, especially the lower HC levels for the AI.

Now as for keeping NM as an Option? It could be added to the 'regular" handicaps and the Option removed. It would mean one less xml file and one less schema file in the My_Modules folder. But this is not my decision to make.

I believe if u change anything in the options area, all saved games are then useless, unless u keep the one before the change . .

If we want to retire an option, we can turn it off and invisible by default and then reuse the slot later for another option. Not too big an issue really. This doesn't mess with save compatibility until we start reusing it and even then only for games with the option on.

 • Adjusts city AI priorities so as to place training settlers and their escorts much higher. Though this may have some adverse side effects, it may help the AI to not be quite as exploitable by raiding units that can cripple them (and keep them stuck that way) by knocking out the platform of readiness to grow out from underneath them.
