Strangely bug or message bug... i destroyed sao paulo (A city from the little brazilan fool :) ) then i get the message that all my deer riders lost there fortification, now they have all "Way of the centaur + 1 strength" Nice that the goods favored me but its a bug/problem or wrong message displayed, all these deer riders are far away, they dont where near or in combat at sao paulo at all. Screenies...

No bug. I'm a little surprised that they lost their fortification buildups but I guess that's just an interesting side effect from being gifted a promotion. I might eventually try to keep that from happening. But the reason they got the way of the centaur promos is because you captured the city that gives its owner the Way of the Centaur trait, which gives the Way of the Centaur promotion for free to all applicable units that player owns, no matter where the unit happens to be. It's probably that the next round they'll all lose that promotion because you destroyed the city and thus the wonder and are thus set to have them now lose the promotion they briefly were given.
 
Ah ok. :thumbsup: Also funny i think the deer rider can only sleep not fortificate, but i dont checked yet. And yes interesting my horesman got the promotion also but he did not get the message, but he was not fortified and yes deer rider cant be fortified, so maybe theres the problem.

T-brd has made most mounted units unable to use the red shield fortify. Early game elephants and horsemen can use the "set for charge" or the withdraw ones.

Trained dogs and above can not use the red shield Fortify either. Nor the regular fortify too. Not sure why.

It's a matter of a lack of options. The change was really more of making sure we were adhering to the rules. Units that cannot get defense bonuses haven't been able to fortify previously and shouldn't be able to now, nor should they be able to get any promotion that gives a specific bonus for defense only. The original vanilla rules on this were being violated.

I wondered if the reason they lost those was because you'd updated and this was the first time since that something had happened that caused the game to evaluate what promotions they had and whether they should be able to keep them or not. So that's actually not a bug at all but just an update correction that finally triggered.

The penalties for player over expansion were muted by your cry about too much inflation. You whip and hurry and it will catch up to you. The AI is now more cautious about this. Curb your over expansion or pay the price later on. (And you have No idea how much this goes against my very play style but became a necessity because of way too many player exploits the Game and Mod is riddled with.)
 
Pay the price later for my over expansion? How? :)I will generate more gold. Ok we will see what will happen but if possible just increase the AI a bit to build more citys only a bit. :thumbsup:

Ok when i get this meso wonder in near future that will give me a courthouse in every city with -10 gold i will need 240 gold more in a short time, hard hitting. Iam down to +35% research already. :shifty:

Damn Thunderbrd you programming good man, 1230 turns and only 1,9 - 2,0 GB RAM usage currently and alot of citys and units already on the world map.

Alberts is probably more to blame for a lot of that improvement.
 
A few more adjustments to help cope with increasing inflation just commited.
 
Ok Joseph, tx i will update soon. ;) But my super hero with this 300% pillage yield promotion is doing me 600 to 1000 gold a turn in my war now from pillaging one plot, so paying these little inflation is currently no problem for my civ. So long i am still in war. :thumbsup: This guy rocks now and filling my gold reserves up.

Where is it modded how fast the AI builds citys?
There are a number of junctures where aspects of this factor are determined. If I recall, you were tampering with one of them to increase the integer that determines how much gold percentage on the slider they expect to be able to maintain before they will consider themselves in financial trouble, a major portion of that evaluation process.
 
I changed the city maintenance costs a bit, and city distance maintenance and the gamespeed +80% modifier to normal, resulting in that i can build more citys then the AI will do now, because you set the AI to build lesser citys to went not bankrupt. So i reduced the maintenance cost but the AI has alot of gold now but is building citys to slow against me, so i want to increase the AI to build more citys faster. There gold slider is mostly on 95% but they build only at best 6 citys and i have 30 citys. :lol: So i can restart a new game with standard mod settings, but paying 30 gold maintenance for a city 10 plots away early sucks on eternity when you can create only 5 gold and then +80% maintenance cost by gamespeed eternity sucks also, should be -80% because you need longer to gererate more gold. So i reduced the maintenance cost to normal not - , but now the AI builds to less citys and they have 20.000 gold savings.

So i have two choises, first i can continue my game but then i should make the AI to build more citys faster, how can i do that where is it modded in code? Wich variable to change?

Second i can start a new game with standart mod settings, but then on eternity the maintenance costs are mostly unpayable because of the +80% maintenance cost for gamespeed.

So what to change to make the AI build 2 times more citys?

I thought the AI will adapt and build more citys when they have enouth gold and lower maintenance costs, but the AI wont, so there must be a variable to set to increase the speed the AI will build more citys faster. They have enouth gold and wasting there power currently. AI should build 100% or 50% more citys. (On my reduced maintenance cost) Maybe on standard mod settings you have to do it so slow or they will go bankrupt by building to mutch citys at these high standard mod maintenance costs.

Unless you want to learn how to code AI, which is going to first require learning how to program C++, you'll have to wait.

I just saw, in playtesting tonight, some very problematic symptoms of over-training criminals and then having them hang out in the city. I need to catch this on a single player game. I can't debug it from the multiplayer I'm in. But something is clearly wrong there and it could be part of what's getting in the way of growth protocols.

I can program a bit C++ but not enouth, i dropped that some years ago. ;) Now i am over 40 and to old. :crazyeye: Yep sometimes there are alot criminals in the main citys of the AI look into it, also the AI is using enforcers in attack armys currently. I am continuing my game, AI still hard enouth on deity but looks to build to less citys now in every game. I am the superpower now but was hard and will be hard to keep that status. I provide you my 1230 turn eternity single player game, look into it if you like, alot on interesting things to spot there maybe, put via WB a special agent to the AI citys to get more info on the current AI situation. As you see the AI has no gold problems with my reduced maintenance cost, so remember when you load it on standard mod settings you cant pay the maintenance anymore. :lol: But is cool to look arrount how things worked out so far and for the AI. China has problems with revolutions but can fight them good as it looks like. In the amazonas jungle there is a enemy attack army with enforcers from the inca otw maybe currently under my hunter in same plot, bit NW of the inca territory.
