C2C - UEM - Ultimate-Earth-Map 100% MOD and SVN update compatible by Pit2015

Here is my little report about this scenario after 108 hours and cultural victory. It was my test game before i start my epic journey on eternity :)

Changed settings: marrathon speed, no barbarian, no revolution, no vassal, teleport hunters reward, increasing difficulty
Played with SVN version

Some things i dont like:
1Asia minor and Europe should be connected by land
2Scandinavia need little rework
3I had contact with USA in ancient era, i dont think it should be possible so soon. maybe some ocean betwen greenland and america continet would help.
4And please, please erase portugal, summeria and celts, their starting positon is totally wrong(i know why u did it) its better to play without them than see celts in east asia.

In your description is missing information that this scenario is after columbia era(i see everywhere in europe potatos and corn)

I like this map a lot.
You did a great job with this scenario :goodjob:

Ok i checked your savegame, works fine with the world full of citys, RAM usage is about 1.7 GB if you still have a save from some turns before you won the cultural victory plz upload it, i want to look up the turn time rate with my new machine. :goodjob:

@Pit: You've had more time to play deeper into the game which I assume you have. In the long run, how has the 90% gold tolerance change there gone for the AI? Are they extremely reluctant to attack or grow or are they engaging in these actions just as readily?

I had no time in the last days, so i dont got deeper into game now, will report to you in some days...

Sorry, i dont have saved game anymore, my turn time was around 15min(dual core 2,4Gh, 4GB RAM)

Ok, i saw you do with so many citys a new tech in every 1-2 turns, thats why eternity game speed rules, also i think the world will not be so full of citys at your year 330 AD, so etnerity will be better to play the scenario. But good to see that the scenario works with a full map.

For some reason, when I try to load this in my SVN C2C, it says it failed to read world builder and it doesn't load. I have issues with Space Map 2 as well. But, I can play the other scenarios that come default with C2C just fine. And this map works on the MODDB version

(nvm, reverted to an older SVN and it works) :)

Ok Vendayn. ;) I was away some weeks, i will update to lates SVN and game on asap.

If any major changes happend in the last weeks guys that need the scenario to be adapted, let me know.

Tons and tons and tons of stuff. But I can't say I'm sure how exactly it impacts map and scenario designers. I do know that the limit of the number of players is now 40.

There have been lots of changes to terrain types etc.

Pit2015 - you need to read the SVN thread and the graphics thread for them all. A lot are simple find replace commands in notepad++. But IIRC also a few new additions.

I have not even tried updating my maps (since Oct.) until this settles down (which I believe is almost finished). Not just because of these changes - but also just recently - busy on something else C2C related.

is there a downloadable sav of a game in industrial time research already or later? I want to test the ram and cpu usage with a late game.

Edit
downloaded C2C-UEM-ByPit2015-V2.9.7z and try to start it either as scenario or as own scenario and get error: wordlbuilder could not read the file

RAM usage is about 1.7 GB

how this? the C2C-UEM-ByPit2015-V2.9.7z is extracted about 2.6 GB and for world builder not able to load because too little free ram.

3GB limit is 2.956, so I wonder how you could run that or what file size you refer to

I will check scenario compatibility with latest SVN, so if there is a 40 civ limit now it may cause problems and i have to remove some civs for UEM 3.0, maybe thats also the load problem for the WB.

Scenario is destroyed... any idear why scenario is not loading anymore? You removed a special civ from mod, deleted any terrain type or ocean type?

yes, it's hard to stay according svn. They make changes suddenly and maybe you're pissed after. Like me with the no longer working F1 after a new svn in February.
And no old sav is working anymore because dll change (why they don't make a saved package so that the user can continue ? It's like a comp with 2 HDDs and RAID: if a cernel update is corrupt, all data lost because this affects both HDDS instantly.)

There have been Many changes to C2C since your last update to your scenario Pit. And yes your Scenario is now badly broken.

@Dreifels,
And so is your last game using this scenario.
(why they don't make a saved package so that the user can continue ?

You have been told this but I'll tell you again. Maybe this time you will understand. If you want to Update to latest SVN and we post in the SVN Thread "Breaks Saved Games" Do Not Update if you wish to continue your game. Keep using the version of the SVN that was working for you!

But if you don't pay attention to the Warning, you can Revert thru the SVN back to the version that last worked for you.
And Dreifels you Do Not pay attention, perhaps a language barrier or comprehension level, I don't know which. But it just seems to not make it into your head.

Keep using the version of the SVN that was working for you!

you don't see your own contradiction?

How I can identify up from what svn update a later crash will happen?
If it was caused already by an update 1 day go or 1 week ago or 1 month ago?
How I will know in forward if the running game will crash 500 tuns later if I do xyz?

Or, reversed, how I will be able to indentify up from what svn update the later failure was caused? And how I can isolate just that files causing tht, because most svn updates send mass of files.

Such I can isolate only if I have a replicateable package of any update.
An that I'm asking for.

Take as sample the problem of no longer working F1 I have.
Maybe I can identify up from what svn update that happened, but what of these files is causing that concrete?

I would need to do a rollback for more than 2 montsh (is that possble ?) and then make extry depository for any later scv and then isolate in each what files are replaced in concrete and what of these may / may not afferst the problem.

Gigantic work, and that only because you make no packages with history.

for you a little work, für all other the relief from tons of evitable work.

Sorry, but sometimes you should come out of your space ship and think the basics for all modding: the user

edit
maybe there is a language barrier problem with us, but sometimes I feel that there is a communication problem because we see same thing from different perspecive. You are in your space ship, I'm on the planet. Both have their own point of view.

Before updating, rename Caveman2Cosmos to Caveman2Cosmosprev. Create a new Caveman2Cosmos folder. Download SVN and export to Caveman2Cosmos. (copy over your user settings).

If the new version breaks your saves. Delete (or rename) the new Caveman2Cosmos folder and rename the Caveman2Cosmosprev folder. Your saves will now work.

When downloading from SVN you should make a note of the revision number. That way if it worked, you can always revert back to that version later if problems occur with newer versions.

Gigantic work, and that only because you make no packages with history.

The SVN logs give a history of every SVN commit.

Right click the SVN folder select "TortoiseSVN" - Showlogs.

.
this is not the primariy problem. What is if if breaks after 300 tuns? In between there had been lot of of svn updates, the log file alone will not help. This requieres tht you know what file does what processing and affect what operation.

You may know such, I don't.

Problem is that svn update delivers not only one file, but most time a lot. And then you need to pick out what is new just now, terrible work which would not necessary if there is always a package (with the new files only!) with changelog and what does point to wo so that a comparison is easy.

btw: this here is the thread for the UEM map which crashed at loading.
I can test it only when this issue is fixed. Have no former svn with that the former map did work, and that would be not interesting anyways, as both is outdated.

Made some quick fixes to it in notepad. Hope it is working now.

Still not loading, can you dig deeper? I got the flu in my bones, can do much now, plz test if it will load.

Any way to see why it is not loading? Bug report?
