Are Recon units later in game totaly useless when all is explored? Or any special use for them?
 
With fight or flight they are designed for defensive withdrawal, making them good for getting visibility in enemy territory and being able to avoid being killed for doing it, or being used as decoy units.

Ok, maybe they should get +1 visibility as standart more than other units. Makes sense to use a recon in army than even more. And yes these little scouts mostly always withdraw and i need two attacks to get them.

The added visibility has always been planned but just has never been added yet.

No, handle revolution for human is easy as raxo2222 said, just keep crime low, 4 law enforcer can handle this job, later you would need 8 per city. Or you can keep expanding, conquer enemy city every 5-10 turns and your people would be happy, just keep pushing. On the other hand AI can never build big empire under revolution mod. I tested it once on really huge earth map(ver. 37 i think) and finished game with 200+ cities with revolution mod on.

I think Revolutions would be overall better if only Civics influenced it and maybe properties - education and only few select crimes.

To be honest we could make our own revolution mod as optional thing.
It could be better than current unsupported thing.

I do plan an alternative - of course someday I'll have to figure out how to not have to maintain a job so I can just work on this stuff. lol.

Someone reached Classical era in 9000 BC? Are you playing SVN or V38.5?
What handicap and gamesppeed are you playing?
 
also looks like there are more than 49 players (civs), cant have more than that, i believe .. game says 50 but should never be above 49 just incase, i think . . and if u r using that many, more than likely u ran out of ram .. again i think??

This map has 40 civs - I think that is actual game limit for civilizations - other 10 are reserved for NPCs.
And yes its easy to get MAF on this map.
 
What handicap and gamesppeed are you playing?
I started this game around one month ago with latest SVN version. Game options in picture, difficulty diety. Option Win for losing little helped with science, but AI is far away ahead anyway.

Damn cool. :goodjob: My savegame is now 8.8 MB and i am closing to classical. On wich gamespeed you run that game? 14MB and no loading problem very good.

No MAFs so far... yep 40 civs, just the limit, good gamers will kill some of the AI as time goes by... and in my game aboriginies killed australia, AI will kill AI. Now i kill them and liberate australia. :king::) But was hard to do...

Depends on many factors, if your civ has to many problems than revolution can come... play on deity... i have alot of stable citys now but now one city with two religions revolutions is 50% up, revolutions can become harder and is not only crime based... at least on deity its a bit harder. Get more citys = more problems... you cant expirience that on small maps. ;) Here you can have hundreds of citys... than tell me revolution makes no problem for you. Maybe not if your the worldleader but hard to keep that position... i will see how that goes in late game now. You have to build anti revolution stuff or you get problems if you dont do it you may get problems... not only crime. Can be made bit harder but is already affecting game.

So brighter the text in screenshots so larger the problem... if i found a new city i have to build anti rev stuff now or it is already up. I think with more and more citys it will be a bigger problem... also conquered citys as you can see may be problematic and sometimes revolt before pacified... frenchies conquered a german city in game, the city revolted and joined germany back, makes also interesting gameplay. And maybe there will be more bad stuff comming later in game... otherwise some bad stuff can be added.

Or the revolutions deity modifier can be increased by 25%. Also you cant build buildings and so also anti revolution buildings fast on eternity, needs more time to build. Also you will loos anti rev stuff, then you loos alpha female by tech and so on later in game. You have to keep an eye on your stability and revolutions on deity + large map + eternity slow building speed.

I say revolutions is cool, support it and make it better, its easy to expand it a bit. Maybe by crimes and bad education, yes... but has to be done carefully, AI can handle it good now in current state.

But first do multimap i need to create more maps for planets to colonize, will be a good amount of work to build the galaxy. :crazyeye: Earthmap + spacemap + planetmaps. :thumbsup:

No problems so far, and if there are problems on slower machines you can go to WB and delete an entire civ with one click. (You can say to yourself a unknown virus got them and your pandemic protocols worked :)) Someone did the UEM map on autoplay a while ago, was full of citys and was still running fine. Good work on memory saving was done. Also some AI civs will be killed by player or AI kills AI while game goes on, so selfcleaning.

If we have multimap only a few civs will go to colonize space i bet, so maybe on a new multimap there can be a new alien civ without problems... but letz say USA civ, russia and china survived earth map (Earth map will be playable endless and continue, UEM is already endless) and going to colonize and build citys on other planets, THAT WILL ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: Even if we are alone in space. :crazyeye: Also when russia and china get in war or someone else there will be war in space and on earth. Also player has the option to use earth map to produce stuff he can send into space and supply all stuff up there with his build up civ. Space are the new colonys... load map - play one turn - load next map - play one turn = memory limit ok and no problem, only a way to send stuff from one map to another has to be developed. Like from earth to space and from space to a planet. And back if you want. :)
