I'm playing C3C with patch 1.22 and the games crashes right out to the desktop with no error message when I conquer the enemy's last city. Generally an advisor pops up to tell you the evil Byzantines have been destroyed, but in this random map game, the game continues on until it is the Byzantine's turn again. He moves a few ships around then the AI figures out there are no more cities left and the game crashes. ANyone else experience this glitch? Any way to get around it without having to reinstall and/or dump the saved game? Aside from this problem the game plays perfectly well...except for the capture the princess glitch where you can't move her back to your capital once captured. I always have that problem, so I just ignore her.

Any help with the crash problem whould be appriciated. Thanks.

The Byzantines might have a settler on one of their boats, in the case of which they would not be defeated upon the capturing of their last town. While this could explain why you don´t get the "Byzantines destroyed" message, it says nothing about why the game crashes.
I experienced occasional crashes on diplomacy, either self-started or offerings from the AI. This could be the case for you, too, with the Byzantines trying to ask for peace. The only cure I found for this was de-/reinstalling, though. :(

I have reinstalled with no change...game still crashes on next Byzantine turn. As a result I went back to an earlier save and left the last town standing and used diplomacy to end the war. I also tried waiting a few turns then taking the town, but the crash always occurs. It's like the AI does not want you killing those Byz's. Anyone else experience a Civ that can't be killed?

Have you modified the civ files in some way?
