Hi, all. For the past couple of weeks, I've had serious problems with C3C, which I never befoe experienced with previous Mac versions of Civilization.

First and foremost, it crashes my computer several times per day (when I get time for protracted play). The screen freezes, then about two-thirs of the map gets overwritten with what looks like lines of computer code. There it sits until I reboot.

Possibly related, the game also locks up in between my turns, during the "Please wait" phase. Sits and does nothing for many minutes (even early in the game when there's little activity by rival civs). Again, I have to reboot.

Is anyone else experiencing these problems? I've tried dumping the whole folder and re-installing, but to no avail.

The symptoms you describe sound like an OS X kernel panic, which implies a fairly fundamental problem in your hardware or operating system software. Normally a crashing application should not take the whole computer down.

If you are in Tiger/ OS X 10.4 you should be getting a crash report screen when you reboot. Click the "View details/Send to Apple" button to see the gory crash log text. Copy and paste that to a text file in TextEdit and then attach it to a post here or send it to Aspyr's tech support.

If you are on an older OS version, or if you want to give us the last log entry rather than wait for it to crash again, then you'll have to open the Console application in Applications/Utilities to get the log text. Click the "Logs" button and navigate the left hand column to find the Panic Logs. Find the latest one and copy/paste it as described above.
