C3C Frequently Asked Questions

I always leave it turned on. Respawns don't happen all that often and when they do, it just adds a new twist to the game. They respawn immediately.

If you had an embassy with that civ, you have to establish a new one if they survive & a civ can only respawn once.

Can a human-controled Civ respawn? I bet the answer is no, but it should be yes. That would be a great twist. Of course, how many people actually let their civs get distroyed, rather than starting fresh when it becomes apparent that there's no hope?

ScL

No, a human civ cannot respawn. Not sure if they should, as the game is lost.

You could always reload your 4000bc turn, and start over again.

quick question - what is the first naval vessel that can carry 4 units? what research does is come with?

My current Problem:

I have made the military accademy allowing me to make armies.

I have the Pentagon allowing me to put four units in an Army.

I can't ship it off my island; I assume because it won't fit on a boat.

Help

No you cannot unload an Army. Move you army by sea before you load the fourth unit.

Question: Why does the AI frequently raze a city that it captures? In a recent Conquests scenarion, I saw an AI-controlled civ raze one city after another even though keeping at least some would have given a place to regroup and refresh damaged units. This seems just stupid to me.

Another question: How does one control the amount of pollution produced by cities etc.? I'm building a scenario in C3C and want to slow down pollution since I have one week turns and regular pollution and global warming come on just way too fast.

Thanks for whatever help/info anyone can give.

It is even worse in Ancient and Middle Ages.
Say, you are conquering your home continent. In the course of the battles, you gain 2 MGLs. Of course, you will build armies from them to do the conquest quicker.
After that is done, you have to wait for Magnetism, until you're allowed to transport your best 2 units to another continent.

The solution for that is to mod the game and to create an expansive "army transporter" which you may build only if needed. It seems that the AI doesn't go for such a unit because of the high costs.

It would be nice if we could break up an army and load on several ships. How about a notice like this:
Loading this Army will require 3 ships. You only have 2 available
when you try to load an army on board ship. If, of course you put a third ship in the same tile; the loading could then proceed as planned.

Nice idea, but most probably requiring too much recodification.
First, it would require the unloading (splitting) of armies. Then, it would require the load capacity determination. Third, it would require the requester (which should be the least of the problems).

It would have been much easier if they would have adjusted the ship sizes to army size, especially since armies are much more useful in C3C.

Could you make a unit (like a leader) that allowed you to combine ships into fleets that had cumulative carrying capacity?

Birdjaguar,

In C3C you can modify a scenario to make ships have a higher transport capacity. The editor allows you to change this. It even allows you to create a new ship unit that will transport an army.

Thanks jimmygeo, I was aware of that in the editor. I was angling for a fleet capability, so maybe 3 galleys could be combined to carry 6 units.

when ever you load a game the loading bar always stays stil at the 38% and 78%, anyone knows what is going on at that time?

These are the points in the game loading process at which Windows goes into "Messing Around Mode". You won't see this on MyCrudSoft's own applications because their progress bars are phony and show progress happening regardless whether it really is or not.

Messing Around Mode is a symptom of Disobedient Computer Syndrome. While suffering this ailment, Windows will hunt high and low for any odd task that it can busy itself with, other than the one you just gave it, in order to avoid the task you chose.

To detect this symptom while using a MyCrudSoft application with a phony progress bar, listen for abnormally continuous churning of the hard drive or watch for your mouse pointer continually remaining an hourglass.
