I have this problem I can't figure out.

For some reason, by bombers won't rebase into a specific city of mine, and I can't find out why. They just won't rebase there. There is nothing specific about this city that I can find, either; I have cities that are just like it, and the bombers rebase fine. What's the deal?

Does anyone know the rules for rebasing air missions?

I've got a silly question.

In my last game I had some Persians marching through my land.
Now we had a MPP, good for at least another 16 turns.

Is it possible for Persia to cancel the MPP, declare war on me, and march into an empty city of mine in the interturn?

Silly question, not hardly.

Yes, it is possible for them to do it. Especially if they think they can get away with it. IE, city close to their borders, they're stronger than you, that kind of thing.

You'll find that quite often the AI will break a per turn deal. Usually it's inconvenient for you, but sometimes they end up taking cities while doing it.

Thanks Turner

I ended up not escorting them through my land and they never did attack me, but thanks for the knowledge. They often signed peace with other civs, but as soon as the other civ attacked me, they re-declared war.

But it's good to know it could have happened for the next time. :)

There have been a few times in modern era where an ally has come through my territory with over 100 tanks & APCs,with tow squads behind.Takes a long time for them to pass.I wonder if my ally is getting ready to turn on me;because on the map they can't get to the emeny.

I don't play C3C as much as a lot of you, but I noticed a really crazy thing last night. I offered a deal to China for Artistry (it was the only Tech they had on the list) they accepted the deal. On the next turn they had aquired two more Techs. They do not have the GL or the Therory of Evalution. How can they get two new techs in one turn?

Could they have traded with another AI(s)? :)

No the others had nothing on the turn before and nothing in the turn where the two showed up.

There are only 4 left including me. Two of those are very week and right now no one is at war so they could not have taken them from another civ. It was like magic. I could understand them having one other tech on the next turn but TWO??? Maybe certain civs can work on more than one tech at a time maybe????

An AI civ can only work on 1 tech at a time.

Could they have "Popped" a Goody Hut? :)

This late in the game there are no areas with goody huts because they have all been popped and all land is owned.

Leave it to me to get the AI to do something impossible. Games and computers are causing people to get gray a lot earlier.

There are a few options I can think of:

1) The AI civilization discovered one technology and advanced to a new era, obtaining another technology for free. That can only occur if the civilization is scientific and changes era. I noticed that free artistry is at the end of an age, so maybe the technology you gave the other civilization caused the era change.

2) You didn't look very carefully (not to insult you or anything, it happens to the best of us). You can only buy the technologies you can research at the moment, the ones for which you have the prerequisite technologies. Maybe another few technologies came available at the negotiation table directly after you bought the technology.

Hope you find the answer to the mystery.

China is not Scientific....so no Free techs!

What were the 2 techs that showed up?

And, finally, the Real Conversation Killer: "Post a before and after .SAV file for us to examine!"

You're right, China is not scientific. I'm used to playing a mod (RAR) and in that mod they are, but that is my problem. A few savegames will probably solve the mystery as experts can then take a look at it.

The two techs that showed up were Electricity and Espionage. I have been back over the games and I have a distinct feeling that they must have gotten Electricity from one of the remaining civs and Espionage from the other. They had had Free Artistry for a long time prior to that turn. Maybe I did not check the other two civs or the trades were made during their turns. From the way I saved the games after each trade. Maybe I will learn sooner or later to pay more attention or write things down.

I most often do not play C3C as I seem to be more comfortable with the older versions. Can someone tell me if is worth jumping the capital in C3C? I have done this with leaders in PTW and Vin but have never tried it in C3C. I know that this cannot be done with a leader so could you also explain the mechanics of how to insure that the capital will end up where I want it. TY

IIRC the collective wisdom of the better players (not me) says no; it is not a good move in conquests 1.22.
