It must depend on which language version you have. Most players end up with all American civs but I have heard of all European before. Always disable 'culturally linked' for the game rules.

It won't ever get fixed since they left us with a broken C3C to begin work on Pirates and Civ4.

Thanks for the raucous welcome Eman, will keep that thread noted for future reference. Spending much time here picking up some useful tips but every minute spent here is a minute lost in conquering my civ3c game!
Been playing Civ since the first edition years ago, sometimes wish I had never been shown the game, would have a lot more sleep ins and early nights!
Just perfecting my Civ3C technique and I see that bastard Meier has another Civ in the pipeline...can I sue him for lack of sleep?
Look forward to many wasted hours spent here.

Do courthouses, police stations, or police officers have anything to do with cultural flipping? I have heard arguments going both ways.

No.

Here is a thread about the culture flip formula:

Here is a thread with a culture flip calculator:

Culture Flip Calculator

And finally here is a great utility that I also use and has a build in flip calculator (and much much more nice stuff):

When you use a unit with "hidden nationality" to attack an AI ally, you won't get any rep hit, will you?

That's rather unfair, isn't it? What happens when the AI uses invisible units to attack you, then? Do you get some kind of notification it's them?

On razing cities in C3C: If I raze a city, does that give me a reputation hit just for that particular AI, or will all the other AIs think I'm not a nice guy, either?

Thanks in advance! :)

Can scouts pillage?

No, except for Chasqui Scouts (Inca UU)

You must have an attack factor > 0 to be able to pillage.

Are you sure? In any case, Explorers and Scouts are completely different units. ;) :)

I have PTW and Conquest on the same computer and noticed some of the games listed seem to be the same. Would that be true and if so, would they play the same in each?

Not sure what you mean there. Are you talking about savegames?

If so, I'm not sure... though I severely doubt that you can play the same savegame on two different versions of civ3. And even if you could somehow, they would definitely play very differently (due to all the different rules and stuff).

Conquests has the Agricultural and Seafaring trait, PTW doesn't.

PTW has the Radio tech, Conquests doesn't. Well, any more.

Here's a list of changes from PTW to Conquests.

Generally, Conquests is considered superior to PTW. Although some people prefer the Forbidden Palace from VC3/PTW, which created a second core. In Conquests, it only reduces distance corruption, not rank. I think.....

Yep, that's right. Personally, I was one of those who preferred the old Forbidden Palace. Never used the exploit which was the reason they changed it (never even knew about it until recently, actually), so I was disappointed to learn the Forbidden Palace was changed to make it weaker. :(

I think I created my own problem by downloading games from civfanatics and putting them in the wrong place. I guess that is what I did. I thought I would be smart and make some changes in a game and that was when I found files of the same name is both ptw and conquest. My grandson says I had to do that as his is not that way. Maybe I did, my memory leaks a lot more as I get older.
