Musings From Macedonia
Athens, Greece, Palace of King Pinman
After the First Attack on Kahandar
King Pinman
sat on his cushioned throne and pretended to listen to the Celtic Ambassador. The man was blathering on about 'good intentions' and 'mutual advancement'. The
Greek King really couldn't care less about the Celts but appearances had to be kept.
Just as the ambassador was concluding an especially boring part of his proposal, a man ran into the throne room. The man, out of breath from running, was dressed in the robes of a
Greek messanger.
"Your Majesty," began the messanger, "I come bearing news from the front."
King Pinman
motioned impatiently to his guards to admit the man. "Well," asked the king, "Has
Zela been taken yet?"
"Yes", replied the surprised messanger, "But surely your majesty knew that? I am here to report that
Kandahar has been attacked as per your instructions. Our spies were incorrect about the city's defenses your majesty. The
Persians fooled everybody! The city was barely defended at all!"
King Pinman
was shaking with rage. He was
not the person who ordered the attack on
Kandahar. Sombody else had the nerve to write up an order in his name!

More importantly, although he was not even aware of the incident at the time, he did
not send a messanger to assasinate
Alexander the Good. Somebody else did that, and that person was also gunning for our good king.
Kandahar
General Antipatros stood examining the battlefield at the gates of
Kandahar. The area was spewed with
Persian dead from the 10 year siege. Last night, He had lead his men on a final attack against the city. The defenders were unprepared and couldn't even begin to resist the onslaught.
Kandahar was his for the glory of
Greece.
