If you go to the plus gmt to minus, then for instance let say we all play at night. So, if lets say we all usually play at 9 pm. Considering this example, then if one guy at GMT+1 play the game at his 9pm, and pass to other in a minus order, so the next, lets say he is at GMT, he will receive the file at his 8 pm file! In this way you go sending the file, and running back the clock, compensating the normal delay that ppl have to until they check their e-mails or get home to play.

sorry, I missunderstood you. Dunno why, I thought you were meaning to run the game against the Timezones (instead you mentioned the clock, but clock time is a quite relative thing :cool: , in particular, relative to TZ ). The Sun rises first in Oceania, then Europe, and lastly America. So it is natural to follow its path. In our case the order of play is already set following Timezones.

By the way, did we restart with AP off or not ? I'm still waiting for the first turn without AP.

BTW fouth_wise_man : really sorry for that. I admit I did not know. Anyway as far as the play order is concerned, it looks pretty ok to me that way.

I am unsure if the other players will see battles that occurred in my turn.
Hence I will write them here (since they are supposed to see them).

@ onedreamer: Yes you should tell to your opponents the battle results. I strong recommend you post it here instead of only sent it by e-mail. That turn the game much more fun and enjoyable!

hehe I did a very wrong move cos I was in a hurry. Should have threatened the roman town in Sicily (I think it's Messana ?). Instead I thought the legions would get me with the road, forgot that when crossing borders you can't take advantage of the road. Well... hats off to the legions. Worth more than my mercs it seems.

I'm fighting my home country cos they attacked me. I am a pacific seafaring civ, I only go to fish here and there and trade goods from the east to the west mediterranean. I mean no harm to anyone ? *tries to hide war elephants somehow* :mischief:
 
One thing, I am away from home so I don't have the first email LouLong sent us. I remember reading about a rule to not make deals of any kind with the AI until a certain turn. I don't remember which turn, and if there are other special rules of this kind. Can you point them out again please ? Can I establish embassies ?

Special rules : remember you cannot initiate any deals with AI civs (Egypt, Goths, Celts and Scythia) before 5 turns and no alliance before 10 turns.
If the AI contacts you and proposes a deal you can accept but not on the first turn (as there is a bug in all the scenarios where you can rip off the AI easily).
 
I received a GPS from Dafoui Wednesday evening. So if you don't have it, it's still in the hands of 4th wise man.
 
Hotmail told me that daufoi's sav had a virus. Hotmail won't let me download. Asked daufoi to resend.

I don't know where the virus is coming from. I scanned using NAV2003 with the most up to date files and found nothing. I tried uploading again but my hotmail account wouldn't let it go through because it thinks I have a virus. I tried uploading some old sav files I have from another game I'm playing and told me the same thing. I have been getting other errors with my msn account and according to them it is due to their server updates. I don't know if this has anything to do with it but I am trying a different email account. You might want to scan your attachments before openning them just to be on the safe side. Sorry about this.
 
Another possibility : sometimes saves don't like the transt through mail (for instance between Ironduck and me). In this case he just uploads the save here and it works fine, maybe you want to try that out ?
 
OK, here it is... you might still want to scan it with your anti virus program

EDIT:I went through an online scan of my computer at Trend Micro's website (same antivirus hotmail uses). It turns out I DO have viruses! The infected files were not my sav files but some java files in my application data. I deleted the infected files and tried resending a test email with a sav file to myself but still get the same message (that I can't upload because the file is infected). I hope this does not mean that the file is permanently infected. What is strange is that I was able to upload to hotmail without hotmail finding a virus but fourth_wise_man is not able to download because of a virus. That must mean it caught a virus in the transit but then why am I getting that the files I have on my PC are infected.

Anyway, I plan to go through a reinstall of windows to make sure it is gone. If you guys think that the files are infected then maybe I can replay my turn with a fresh file after this is done. But since this will take time maybe you can find a sub for me until after I get this done. If you guys think the file is not infected, then I would like to keep playing as normal.

So, let me know.
