C3C PBEM : Sengoku - scenario-based PBEM

Played it. Lou, who do i send it too. I can't remember off the top of my head, and my contact list and planning e-mail are gone with my Hard Disk. This counts for Pangea as well. Thanks.

Sengoku : King Arthur

Pangea : MSTK
Normally in-game you have a small screen listing all the players (like in MP) so you can see who is next (except of course if they have been replaced).

I have just found out that I am part of the traveling coaching staff for our football team. I will be gone Friday, Saturday and portions of Sunday. Thanks for your patience and sorry for any inconvience.
Go Hardrockers. (Team is South Dakota School of Mines and Technology Hardrockers).
By the way the last save I got was a turn I had already played. It was played and sent on none the less, as the sender did not respond to the msg I sent. I even forgot who sent it.

Relaunched.

I know it is less easy than when you have 1450, 1451, 1452... but Sengoku turns are not that difficult to identify. Basically they are two turns per year so be careful with "January" or "July". That is the second time we do a turn twice.

I might change the naming procedure and give it a turn number instead. Yes, probably next turn.

Seems like dead end to me. @ppls: either let's play or let's abandon. I suggest play. There is always a solution: ppls post latest save they have. Here is mine which went away to Loulong on 9/16.

OK, this is the order or players. BTW, @Loulong: Can you edit the first post to reflect this order since otherwise it is very confusing.

1. Uesugi - Loulong
2. Miyoshi - Romeo
2. Oda - Oblivion
3. Imagawa - King Arthur
4. Takeda - Sega Fanatic
5. Hojo - Portuga
6. Mori - Rcoutme
7. Date - Akots

Since I have finished turn jan-1458 and saved and sent a new turn Jul-1458 which Sega fanatic did not get, and apparently King Arthur did not get either, this leave the save sitting on Loulong, Romeo, or Oblivion. Lets hear what they have to say on the matters. :)

Edited: Looking for PBEM killer guy.

I'd say kill it and restart another one with less humans and some AI.
Thanks for trying to revive it Akots for I got really tired of trying for nothing.

I admit my responsibility : when turns are 6 months apart, it is not easy to spot the proper turn. I should (and will) have given the turn number for easier classification and retrieval. Besides, most PBEM I started in June-July died, mostly because of the summer holidays syndrom.
Now some other people are responsible : basically all the players who think their turn is over once they have sent it.
It only ends when the next player has acknowledged he got it and it is better you have a folder for that PBEM where you keep the saves you sent and the GPS you got in return. Hence the use of GPS messages BTW. GPS messages are not so much necessary when there are few humans and the game moves fast (or actually still fast after the few first turns) but that was never the case here.
So for instance (sorry for being personal) Oblivion when I keep on sending you mails asking if you have played, sent the game (a precise turn) and received confirmation, there is no point in replying you have played the latest save because 1/ that does not mean the next player got it 2/ that does not say what turn it is which is VERY important. Nothing to do with your HD breaking or pbs finding e-mails afterwards, this is just a process. You are probably not the only one who did not follow it but I know you did not practice it.

We have repeated here when the game does not move make sure the next player got it. It is simple, does not require much time and makes games run smoothly (if there is no need for a replacement of course). I cannot go after each player in every PBEM (some players got even mad at me because they felt good since they had played and sent "a" turn (lol) among other reasons). Since people obviously did not check it much, I take it that means not much interest. So the game is basically dead.

Let's make it official ? 14 turns in 4 months and nearly none in the last month... Pity because it could have been a nice game.

Edit : Oblivion, pangea might die the same way, so if you want to play that game, resend or contact MSTK to make sure he got the game (or dropped in case)... basically I had to do that twice after you posted you sent the game but MSTK said he did not get it... and I cannot do that every turn between you and him, there is a more direct way, isn't it ?

OK, Oblivion, say something or the blame falls upon you! (j/k)

Seriously, there are not that many ppls in this one. And I'm sure all can handle the difference between July and January.

On the other hand, I do completely trust the Loulong's intuition about this game. if he thinks the game is dead, it probably is. Another thing, inclusion of AI in this game will kill it. There are just too many weird things in Sengoku that AI does not know how to handle. So, I'd say: Forget about it, lets play something else. Or give another couple of day for all ppls to post something.

My views:
I'm in another PBEM (Scipion) and it's all going smoothly (only 4 people involved tho') and more importantly I am enjoying it. Unfortunately I can't say the same about Sengoku. There's many reasons for this. Firstly, it's not moved quickly enough; secondly I think starting from scratch with 1 city and no techs has made the early turns quite boring (I know some of you saw some action but I didn't and even if I did I don't fancy a fight that involves churning out swordsmen from a single city which involves absolutely no strategy). I think in my other game (Scipion) turns have held my interest from the start because I have a large empire already built up and so do my fellow players). Basically I agree with LouLong, let it die, it's a shame but it's best all round. I certainly will be picking my next PBEM more carefully.
