C3C PBEM -WWII-Game Thread (Tomorrow Belongs to Me)

Man, I'm trying by every conceivable way to insert a British flag, through a hyoper link using the IMG tags in my post #5 here but I just can't get to see it (where I posted the first turn). Can one of you check to see how this is done ? I didn't have that problem before!!!

First turn done.

Report from the French:

There was a fight with german panzers this month, our people fear that this is the start of a big war. We did win this battle, but can we win the war?

All the French people have picked up a gun and are waiting at the enemy behind the gates. When do they come? Will we survive? Will France be known as a nation in, let's say, 5 years? Or will it be one big pile of ashes? So many questions for us, but when the war hits us we will be prepared! Our new battlesong is called "Schade Deutschland, alles ist vorbei!" and people are signing it out loud!

@Pirke: Two things please.

1. How many and what type German units did you kill?

2. Translate "Schade Deutschland, alles ist vorbei!"

1. The panzers standing next to strassburgh in that 1 spot that wasn't German territory, I think it were 4 panzers.

2. It's something we sing in The Netherlands when Germany has been kicked out the european or world football league. It means "too bad Germany, everything is over".

Russia checking in here. Just moving massive amounts of troops to our borders, as (for some reason that I am completely at a loss to explain), we don't trust the Germans! :p
Uhhhmmm...I sold the Coastal Fortress in Moscow. :crazyeye:
Wasn't there supposed to be an Airport there? Anyway...let the Blitzkrieg begin!* (onto Dogboy)

*Gives the Germans directions Westward, rather than Eastward!

Errrr...France got blitzed also, if I remember correctly. :p And the British weren't exactly having a sea holiday at Dunkirk!

I just got home from work, and the turn is in my inbox. I will play after the kids get in bed (in about 2 hours), and send along. I estimate my turn will take at least 1 1/2 hours after hearing what the English said.

Oh well, maybe it was 50 mins instead of an hour. I didn't think too much, just wanted to get things rolling, and with so much to think about I rather get into it slowly, turn by turn...

As far as I'm concerned, now I'm not in a hurry and would suggest we take it easy with this one because it does require more time to play. That's my thoughts on this at least. We are doing this for the fun eh.. :)

Germany has made her presence known. After the unprovoked and unwarranted attack by the English and the French, the German army, navy, and airforce has retailated. The first thing we did was call for "Deutschland Protectant Seiben" which means "please protect the fatherland". Many young German heirs and frauleins answered the call and began training. The little boys trained with guns and tanks while the little girls infiltrated the French lines and brought with them many bottles of wine and blocks of cheese. Soon the German boys were trained in war, while the French soldiers were drunk and too busy with the women to continue their training. The Germans then began a massive campaign called "Luftwaffe la Magnifique un de Drunks" which means "Bomb the hell out of the French". When the German air force ran out of targets as most of the French were running away, the German High Commander launched an assualt unlike the world has ever seen. Some would call it Blitzkrieg, but I call it "Panzer un para de foot en Arse" which means "Stomp a mudhole in the cheese eaters". The maginot line was broken, many French soldiers were dead, some artillery was captured, and a former French city is now in German hands. When the German soldiers marched through the town the French citizens were heard to sing a song called "Deutschland ist liberators de oppresedo Francois". I still don't know what that translates to, but the soldiers seemed to like it. The Germans have halted their advanced and have begun to resupply the units in the field in preparation for another assault.

Our new battle song is: P@nz3rz R lEEt unD the cH33z3 eaT3rz w1ll zoon DIE

Battle reports:
France:
17 Infantry
9 Tanks
1 Flak
3 Artillery
Lost the city of Strasbourg

English:
1 Infantry
Lost the city of Kavala

Germany:
10 Panzers

The great Itallian forces have come to our German ally's assistance. We have captured London, Paris, Marseilles, New York and Boston. We will give them all back if the evil French and English will desist their naked agression!

Umm...we didn't kill anybody or take anything...our ally has deserted us to our fate and I am willing to cut a deal with any French or British emmisary who shows up. Italy out.

The lovely French people are mad at those monsters that call themselves humans! They are the ones who should be put in the gaschambers!

We welcome all help from the Italians to get rid of these cruel invaders. What would you think of a nice bottle of wine?

Well...wine is nice but we have some of our own. On the other hand, rubber is nicer. I might be willing to sign a peace agreement for some of that.

So as from when can Italy join the allies side? I thought that would only happen once they became scared taht Germany might lose the war, something that now is not very clear...

Battle Report

1) France:
England lost: 3 tank, 1 inf and captured a French Artillery from Germans.
Germany lost: 8 Panzers which were almost at the gates of Paris

2) North Sea:
Germany lost: 1 Cruiser near Stavenger

Other comments:
Specially for Rcoutme, Netherlands kicked all my units out, because we didn't have right or passage nor were allies at that moment, although after that I did get a chance to ally with them. This should be corrected somehow in the future release.

With the success of our British expeditionary in France in destroying all but one of the panzer units at the gates of Paris, we now have created a new defensive front in front of the French capital which was otherwise non existent before we intervened this turn. So the Axis will have to fight a bit more for their wine. :goodjob:

Battles in North of Greece where germany has sent an important force of Panzers to help their Italian allies.

QUESTIONS: Is there any way to see what units are lost, except writing them down as the casualties occur, like a summary screen somwhere?

P: It took me exactly 40 mins to do this turn, and then a whole bunch of mins more sending the file by email (much more work and slower than posting here ) and writing this memorandum. But so far it's an enjoyable experience.

@Thrust: The only way to keep track of units is to write down what is lost. What I do is make a chart with headings like INF and TANK, then put tick marks down when I lose something, or kill something. Then just add up the tally at the end of the turn.

@ Thrust: Yes, but RJ is taking his vacation this weekend with the ole' wifey. I'm sure the game will pick back up when he gets back in town. I also am looking forward to kicking some Allied butt!
