C3C PBEM -WWII-Game Thread (Tomorrow Belongs to Me)

The Germans are getting bored. The English won't land, the French are run out of Europe, the Dutch have been gone, Spain had no roads so it's hard to blitz there. Der Furher is afraid his panzers will rust, his bomber pilots will lose their "edge", the factory workers will get lazy. We need someone to fight!

Come and get me, da-daradara-da-dadadara, if you dare! :D
Also: you can always turn your tanks on your own people. There's always plenty of victims among the Germans who are not übermenschen...

Turn for France - apr 1941

BATTLE REPORT

Bombed France, Bombed Spain.

I don't mean to sound impatient, but Thrust posted the save for the game over a day ago. I noticed that when he posted the save it was downloaded very shortly afterwards. Since that time, I have talked to Rubberjello multiple times and he hasn't sent me the save, therefore, I know he doesn't have it. So by default, the save is with...

Well, Uh. The download was actually me. I got confused with the turn order and tried it out.
I guess I was just anxious...

Ok, then the person who should have d/l it hasn't been around in over a day and a half now. So, what gives?

The last turn I sent is labelled Dec 1940. I sent an email to LouLong and he was thinking March 1941, but I think he has two games confused. Everyone post to whom you sent your latest send and we will be able to figure out where the stop is.

No, it is me. I just expected to get it by mail and did not check the save posted in the thread.
Rcoutme, apparently it is the good one for me since it is April 1914. Dunno what is going on with these years...

Der Furher would like to thank the French for the target practice they provided this month for the German Luftwaffe. We would also like to thank the British for the target practice this month.

Battle Reports:
England:
Bombed the city of SouthHampton which resulted in the loss of:
Courthouse
Bank
Walls
Harbor
Temple
Marketplace
Library
5 citizens
Bombed the southeast coast of England

France:
Lost 1 battleship
Lost 1 cruiser
Both were off coast of Barcelona

Spain:
Lost 1 infantry
Lost 1 rifleman
Lost 1 worker
Lost the city of Valencia

The Italian diplomats were deployed in force this month. Spain has agreed to join the good guys (i.e. we are allied with Spain against England) and the Swedes have made peace with us. England finds herself increasingly isolated in her war of agression against the peaceful Italians. :smug:

To our English foes I say: stop your war of agression! Pay reparations to the tune of 200gp, returning Tobruk, giving up the island of Malta and removing all troops from Italian territory!

Btw, on the battlefront, two english tanks were wiped out near Benghazi (no Italian casualties).

BATTLE REPORT

UK Lost:
1 bomber in Spain
1 Tank in Spain
1 Cruiser in Tobruk
1 Transport in English Channel

Spain Lost:
2 inf and the city of Seville

UK bombed France and Spain

COMMENTS:
Oh Yes, the situation is desperate for the civilized free world. But the British are best in these situations and we wouldn't have it any other way.
No amount of bombing, destruction of land , air or naval units, changing of alliances of our traitorous allies can deter the firm resolution of the British people to stand the onslaught and win the war at all costs.

We wish the "brave" Germans good luck in their upcoming adventure in the East!.. :mischief:

PS:
Some situations arose which I believe are bugs or something. For example , the cuiser I lost in Tobruk, there's no explanation because I didn't even move it. It's like if some enemy unit moved during my turn and destroyed it!
Another situation is that I had a transport near an island, and moved the transport, and the cargo it had stayed on the island!
Just warning you guys of this to see if any other abnormal situations occur in your turns.

I have a question about the cruiser in Tobruq. Did you try and move it out of Tobruq and that is when it sank?

Also, how did you lose your transport in the English channel? Muhahahaha :satan:

Ok, maybe I did try to move both those units out of their respective ports.
The Cruiser in Tobruk, if i did so, was by mistake, but that is an usual ocurrence in this game because the interface is pretty bad as it autoselects units to move and not always I am aware of it...

GPS to Rubberjello.

France took Berlin this turn (err, wait, no we just took a small fishermen's village in Djerba and squeezd all of its shells out of it ....). Nothing....

One after another, the nations are capulating before the might of the German army. Sweden and Spain both signed peace treaties with the Germans. The Swedes had not much to give, but the Spanish were VERY eager to make peace with the Germans. The money received will surely come in handy in some manner. The German intelligence has intercepted radio transmissions between the English and the Russians. It appears as if the English want the Russians to enter the war and help out the English in their futile attempt to destroy the peace loving people of Germany. We were not able to determine the exact month that the Russians might enter the side of the losers, but we feel that it could be any month now. We have taken measures to secure our border cities against any type of Russian threat.

BATTLE REPORT:
Spain:
Lost 1 infantry
Lost 1 flak
Lost 3 riflemen
Lost 1 artillery
Lost the city of Madrid
Signed peace with Germany

Sweden:
Signed peace with Germany

French:
Lost 1 transport near the Spanish city of Palma

England:
Lost 2 cruisers south of ex-Spain (too bad we didn't have more forces to destroy the battleship that was with them)
Lost 1 transport north of England by that tiny island with the airport
Bombed the city of Southampton and destroyed in it:
-Cathedral
-University
-Colleseum
-3 citizens

The Afrika Korps has advanced to the edge of Egypt, sweeping away all British resistance and recapturing Tobruk.

English losses: 1 inf, 1 artillery, 1 destroyer (in Tobruk harbor)

Well, all i can say is what I suspected since many turns ago: There is something FUNDAMENTALLY wrong with this scenario. The Germans have an unrealistic technological advantage that doesn't resemble the actual WWII conditions.
I am referring to the air war. How else does one explain that so far Germany hasn't lost a single bomber in any of his attacks in South England? Whilst England has lost many in his attacks on France due to fighter interception.

I mean, there's 3 flak (three I say) units inside Southampton, plus around 5-6 fighters in South of England overall in air interception mode, and still Germany bombs as if there was nothing and with no losses. As you know in the real WWII the British planes were well up to par with the Germans during that period. What is happening?

Sure, I have comitted all the possible mistakes one can in the naval war. Taking away the ability to see submarines threw me completely off balance.

I will continue this game, but is is only an exercise in futility under these conditions... :scan:

@ Thrust: There is more than one way to bomb a city, unit, improvement. That is why I'm not losing any bombers. If you have noticed I haven't killed a single unit in Southampton.
