This will be the thread for the 'rematch' of the original Zama.

The players are:
Justus II
Romeothemonk
WarningU2
Studsoccer06
(Civs to be assigned randomly, I will edit when we know who is who).

Rules as agreed to:
No AI Diplomacy first turn, no worker buys, wars or alliances for first 10 turns.
(Same as last game).
No more than one MA w/AI civ vs. the same civ at a time.
No "Phony Wars" against your locked enemy, you must pursue the war.
No razing/abandoning cities, your own or your enemy's.
(I proposed an option to allow a limited number, but no confirmation yet).
Emperor level AI.
AP (Accelerated Production) off.
Random Civ assignments.

I am emailing Loulong to see if he will draw civ assignments and post them here, then he or I can email the BIQ to whomever is chosen to play Rome to get started. Good Luck to all!

Checking in

I think a limit of 3 abandoned cities should be allowed.

I have no preference for civs.

Is the biq modified somehow ? Is it not just the standard rise of rome ?

The BIQ has AP turned off (standard MP version has AP enabled), and needs to be set for the correct difficulty level. (For PBEM, setting difficulty level is tricky sometimes).

3 cities per civ seems like a decent number, if we get confirmation from Romeothemonk we should be ready to go (once Loulong selects the civs).

OK, I will send the .BIQ to WarningU2 (Rome) to get this started, tonight when I get home. Looks like we've agreed, no more than 3 cities/civ can be razed/abandoned.

Sounds good, Can't wait to get it started.
Can you list to who each person sends it to. Not sure the order of civs in this scenario other than Rome goes first;P

OK, BIQ sent to WarningU2, and an email with play order and everyone's emails sent out as well. Studsoccer, you will send to Romeothemonk. Also, as in the last game, everyone should send a GPS (Got it, Played, Sent) to the player they recieve the save from once it's been sent on.

Also, please post full battle reports on this thread, these should include what you killed, and any losses you incurred.
You do not have to post for kills or losses to the AI.

I have setup the game and started it ... off we go. :thanx:

Very quiet on my end.

Turn 1 off to Justus II.

Emails were listed in a separate email to all ...

I will send LouLong my admin password in the event something happens to me and can't continue but I have no intention to not play this to the end.

Ironic, it took me a few minutes (even after emailing out the setup instructions) to realize that our two rivals from last game are squaring off against one another in locked war this time as well, but on the Western Front! It should be a most interesting rematch. ;) Meanwhile, I will have my hands full with a mystery opponent from another land...

We are off and running! Alexander the Great of Macedon (the real commander, not the movie one ;) ) is on the march across Asia Minor, ready to teach the Persians about the power of the Hoplites!

Game rececived and sent
How strong are the hopelits.. Is a upset in store or is persia's downfall going to quicken?? Or will the power of the never dieing immortals be to strong..

Off to the west cost

Hoplites are 3/3/1 A/D/M for 40 shields. Immortals are 4/2/1 A/D/M for 40 shields. He starts with around 20 hoplites, you get 3 immortals. Good luck!!

BTW, Rapid City is about 1000 miles from the nearest coast, and that coast would be the north coast.

Hoplites are 3 attack in this scenario.. I'm used to 1/3/1/ a/d/m. Guess i shud of payed more attention Well that makes it a little scarier. I knew he started with more than my immortals. DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY MY UU IS IN LOW SUPPLY. Looks like this may b interesting.

EDIT
K, I went ahead and check scenario. It seems the Hoplits are a lil' stronger now than i remember... I kinda understand now that i may not of gotten a good civ for this scenario:). Anywayz lookz like it may b a interesting couple of turns. But, i wonder how Persia has lots of room but, it seems like i have NO military to work with. Man i love a challenge

345BC has been sent. Actually, in my previous game as Macedon, I thought the Hoplites were pretty expensive for the value, you're paying 10s more than a sword, for the same attack value. In SP games, Persia is usually the top civ, they seem to be well suited for the AI. They have the best available land, and a good attacker that the AI is able to use effectively. Let's hope my opponent is not as effective! ;)

If I may just suggest, and I think I am not doing wrong since Stud is new to pbem in civfan, I recomend you take a look to others ROR threads.
There are plenty in here, and for instance, you have Myles ROR, thread, that is where I am playing as Persia too.

The game obviously can have a very distinctive path, concerning each thread, though you can figure out different scenarios for what may or may not happen in future!

Just a suggestion. :mischief:

Btw, Persia is indeed a harder civ to play that what it may suggest for an outside! But it sure has his own strong points!
