C3C v1.22 patch (standalone) is out!!!

So when uninstall the patch, what version is it saying you have? You can find the version number on the lower left corner of the Main Title screen.

You should write them back and explain that you're trying to patch Conquests, not Vanilla Civ3. Unless I'm missing something and you got a CD with the 1.22 patch on it.

When I uninstall the patch and repair the installation from the Conquests cd, it says version 1.00.

I mailed back to the American helpdesk. I don't think the guy knew that there where patches for Conquests too, so I explained that to him.

No, you're not missing anything: I have a normal Conquests cd, and the problem arises when I download and install the 1.22 patch.

Well....I dunno. Maybe the d/l got corrupted. Can you try d/ling it from a different source (Say, Apolyton) and try it again?

I have downloaded civ3conquestsv122full.exe three times now: from civfanatics, from atarisupport and from apolyton. All three are 24.882 KB in size, and they all have the effect of killing the recognition of my cd.

Next I will try to install the game with patch on my laptop. It's not really playable there, but just as an expiriment.

I had a problem with playing PTW from C3C cd when I first put the 1.22 patch on. To fix that I remove C3C and put it back on and it fixed the problem. But this caused another problem with the patch. Every time I try to reload the patch onto C3C, it keeps wanting to remove things, not put the patch back on. What can I do?

I think I know this one :
1. Let the patch remove itself
2. Run the conquests setup again
3. install the patch again

Then, if it is once again the case that you can't run PTW, I'd say you have discovered another bug with this patch.

It's not the fact that I couldn't play PTW, (that has been fixed), but that every time I run the patch it wants to be removing things instead of adding them on. That's my problem. Every time I try to load the I get the same message. At the moment C3C is 1 and not 1.22. I have done what you said to do.

Ok, so even if you already have let it remove things, if after that you run it again, it still wants to remove things ?

Try doing the whole installation again, starting with the original Civ3 "Vanilla" CD. Choose a different folder location, so you will be sure to not be encumbered with the previous installation.

I have done all that. I did think that this advice would be given. Unfortunately the problem still exists. I think I know what the problem is but don't know how to fix it. When I did what you suggested, I found that when I went to the Add/Remove Program section in the Control Panel, C3C and the patch, never leave the panel, while the other games and their equivalent patches are removed from the panel. Can someone please tell me what the problem is? :thanx:

Arrrrr, I haven't read every message in this post, I hope I'm not being redundant. I just got back from a year absence and felt like checking out the GOTM. Saw conquests04, downloaded the patch .22 or whatever, installed it, and now every time I try to run Conquests I get an Illegal Operation message. I won't bore you with the exact details unless asked. Why can't I run Conquests anymore?
