Anybody got this?

I was gonna skip it but I decided to get it based on the better than expected reviews and I have to say I'm glad I did. It's probably the best single player FPS I've ever played, but then I'm a complete sucker for the scripted movie-on-rails COD formula. Multiplayer is pretty fun too, with lots of stuff to unlock and the ability to create your own classes.

Was lucky enough to be part of the open beta MP. Loved every second of it (better than Halo 3 MP)

It's outstanding, I'd buy the full game but I'm still waiting on MS to give me my 360 back

Yeah I got it for XBOX. Seems to be ancient FPS with candy graphs.

Consept is really like from first CoD. Was kind of disappointed after wasting 66€ for game like this. I still keep RS: Las Vegas as best FPS for xbox.

Seriously though, why are all these games $10 more for the console?

I just bought it for the xbox 360. I am new to FPS's but I am really enjoying this game.

I'm not old enough. One of my friends has the Xbox 360 version, but my parents don't even allow me to watch people playing rated M games.

But the first three Call of Duty games are rated T, right?

Don't bother with CoD3.

Call of Duty and the United Offensive expansion should be like $20 now, there's still lots of people playing them, I still play on United Offensive multi, especially base assault.

CoD2 is nice as well, thoguh I havn't bought it yet.

I was going to get it until I started watching the videos online for it and realized that the shooting mechanics are the same as COD2(which I didnt like) and even a bunch of the sond effects were reused(like the grenade "ting" souind when they land near you). And I couldnt exactly tell from the vidoes but it looks like they still dont have set spawn points, you just spawn at predesignated points like in COD2 and I hate that. That system never worked good and led to a mish-mashed front line and was just annoying. I wont get it becuase 1)I didnt like COD2, and at least from the shooting perspective, it looks like a retexture and 2) All I saw in the videos were infantry combat........I dont know if theres vehicles or not but if there arent any in the MP then Im pretty sure Im going to pass this reskinned dinosaur up.

According to the peopel I've talekd to (although they are mostly fellow players on a base assault server in CoD:UO multi) there's not tanks in multiplayer

CoD4 is definately a CoD game, and I'm still going to buy it. Though I do wish they would make them more moddable. Or if there were more mods for them.

I wish they would make an actual game and ot just a mod.......

It's kind of expensive to make an actual game, it's easier to mod since you don't need to maek or buy your own engine.

Also I'd rather buy one game then download mods rather than buying several games.

Yeah. Xbox games have sick prices in Finland. But I don't remember that I had to pay so much of other xbox games. I went to few shops and they all had same price tag on Cod4. New PC games are from 40 to 50€.

Anyway I still warn you. CoD4 is ancient FPS game, it's not worth of if you don't play multiplayer games.

The single player campaign, while quite good (if linear and railroaded, but has a good story line), is not the main purpose of the CoD games, since the multiplayer is the real replayable part.

What are you smoking people? The shooting mechanics are superb! There are 16 hit points on the players body and the various weapons have different ballistic stats which depending on the power and perks you have equipped can penetrate walls, wood, even sheets of metal to kill players who think they can hide.

I meant the actual developers who made CoD4.......its just CoD2 with some next skins and a few bells and whistles tacked on.

It's not like he described the whole affair. All you know is that you will fight on a highway. That's as broad and general as it can be.

Ya and after that you get to do the final mission in an airplane, hostage situation specifically.
