Can I bomb roads and railroads?

I like pillaging roads. I like blockading harbors. When an enemy civ builds its might on trade routes, I want to punish it by destroying a third of their income. As such, I really like that trade is based on fewer routes (as roads cost upkeep) all with the same destination (capital city). I'm sure I'll have plenty of fun during medieval and renaissance.

What I really want to know is that when World War 2 rolls around can I use bombers (and later guided missiles) to disrupt the flow of money along the railroads, or do I have to use paratroopers to manually sabotage those routes?

You could in IV right? I always just destroyed the cities, or key resource improvements, never the roads really. Id say yes you can, I think.

If I reall correctly, the civilopedia page for the bomber said that bombers will attack units or cities. There's no mention about bombing improvements.
