Can I download Civ V to a Mac & transfer game files to a PC?

Hi folks,

Civ V somehow busted my PC. I've been trying to fix it but I can't figure out exactly what hardware has died. So now it's in the shop for a week.

I wonder if it's possible to download Civ V to my Mac Steam app and then simply transfer the game files over to my PC when I get it back? That way I can get stuck right into it instead of having to wait ~20-24 hours to have it download to my PC.

I've done some searching which seems to indicate that it can be done the other way.

Anyone know if what I describe is possible?

If your Windows PC also has an internet connection, then it should be possible.
But i'm not an expert at steam, don't rely on my word here to 100%.

Even if it will not work right away, it should be possible to get it running via the "verify integrity" thingy, which should fix only the missing/misplaced files. But I'm no expert on steam either

I think I've answered my own question. When I try to d/l Civ V on my Macbook it says something along the lines of "This title is supported on your platform".

I guess I'll wait to get my PC back.
